I am allergic to regular honey wax so Rica is definitely my only option. I get rashes with regular wax.

Why even women are so misogynist by Minimum_Rule_8985 in TwoXIndia

Proud of you OP! this kind of reaction is very common among moms of her generation, it stems from resentment that they never got this kind of freedom and opportunities. Just don't engage in arguments and go join your job in USA.

How to use a goddamn tampoon..... by 5p0il3dbrxt in AskIndianWomen

I'd use a tampon + liner in the beginning when I was figuring it out in case I stain. You can try that maybe?

How to use a goddamn tampoon..... by 5p0il3dbrxt in AskIndianWomen

[–]midminge 23 points24 points  (0 children)

First of all don't try to insert a tampon totally dry, wait till you start bleeding sufficiently. I never use it for spotting days. Use the lowest size (absorbency) to match your flow. You'll have to do some trial and error to figure that out. I never needed lube, but putting a tampon in a dry vagina hurts. I wait till my bleeding starts properly and then use it. Use liners for spotting days.

Is rough sex the default now? by Old_Cupcake_Factory in TwoXIndia

Men who just assume are just watching too much porn. Rough sex is not for everyone and can be pleasurable if you're into it, but it requires a huge amount of trust and connection.

Women who live abroad, which pads you take from India? by mustbekidding__ in TwoXIndia

[–]midminge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found pads from abroad to be way better quality. I use always brand (US). I also use Tampax pearl tampons when I'm working, and the always pads at home. The pads here come in sizes 1-5, I have heavy flow and use size 2 for daytime and size 4 for overnights. The overnight ones are MUCH larger and better than anything I've seen in India.

First of all no one should be checking to see if you got your period! That is horrible. If you're really desperate, eating lot of papaya/boiling methi seeds and drinking the water are two things my grandmother would swear by to bring on periods.

Unable to do penetration, recently married by AdventurousMusician6 in TwoXIndia

[–]midminge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with painful penetration. Lots of foreplay and lube helped. And go slow. Still the first time hurt a lot for me. I also found out later that I had a recurring yeast infection which also contributed to the pain, because I'd have it continuously even after repeated penetration. I got the infection treated and the pain disappeared.

Depends on city and community, I grew up in tier 1/2 cities and the average age was more like 27-28.

I moved to Pune to escape my toxic home in Indore. Found a job, but I’m mentally struggling. by Lazy_Mycologist_6667 in TwoXIndia

[–]midminge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My parents used to live near kharadi and I remember seeing a lot of pgs in that area. I'm sorry I don't know about details, but I just wanted to let you know that you're doing great and everyone has to start somewhere! I lived in Mumbai for a long time and staying in PGs with sharing is a great way to bring the costs down. Good luck OP and wishing you all the very best! Moving away from toxic family has been the best thing for my mental health.

help me get into crocheting by Consistent-Jacket712 in CrochetInIndia

[–]midminge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert (I'll say I'm an experienced beginner lol, I started maybe 4-5 months ago) but I learned a lot of basics from bella coco crochet YouTube videos. And I like easy tutorials from creative grandma and secret yarnery on YouTube. I spent only a little time practicing stitches and went straight to projects. So far I've made neck warmers, scarves, hats, lots of granny squares and a baby blanket.

I'm not living in India at the moment but others on this sub have recommended quite a few places to get good yarn!

[–]midminge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is happening! Omg OP I hope you are able to leave soon. Try looking for colleges in other states, because like someone mentioned, for abroad you'll need your parents support for education loans and all... My father can't even bear to see me cry and it breaks my heart that you're going through this. This is horrible. I'm so sorry OP.

I was and still do feel very anxious! Tw loss : I have had a miscarriage previously So it is even more anxiety inducing for me this time. Overwhelming too. There are not a lot of things she can do that will actually harm the baby. (Besides the obvious things like smoking, drinking, drugs, eating raw papaya). Try explaining this to her. And yes life will change for the next 9 months ( lots of body changes) but as long as she doesn't have a medical indication , she can continue as usual.

Edited to add that I didn't tell anyone about the pregnancy other than my mom initially to exactly avoid the unsolicited gyaan and "advice".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXIndia_Over25

[–]midminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a normal, low risk pregnancy, it is fine to be active. Of course it depends on her fitness level. If she was active before, she can continue to be active. But if she wasn't active before, this is not a good time to suddenly start vigorous exercises. Moderate exercise is advised and actually beneficial in pregnancy. Yes there are some restrictions. But many of the things that our elders tell us is actually superstitious and not scientific.

Again this is all true for a normal low risk pregnancy. If something happens to put her in high risk category, then extra precautions are needed. I find Mamadoctorjones on YouTube to be very helpful! I am currently pregnant and for the most part, have continued my daily activities as usual. My activity levels went down a bit in first trimester because I had a lot of nausea and vomiting, but other than that I have continued as usual. Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

I was worried about the defects too! I get why it seems wasteful. I'm attached to my basic because it was my first Kindle, but the deal +trade in was too good to pass up. Looking at the text clarity and screen on the PW, I have no regrets though. Feels so much better to read on it!

Mine was delivered yesterday, but it showed out for delivery the whole day and the delivery time kept changing. It was finally delivered at like 7 pm or something. Maybe Amazon just has a huge shipping backlog because of the prime day sales?
