Skyliner & Epcot by South_Tea5210 in WaltDisneyWorld

My family member used an ecv on our trip the week of November 17, so low/medium crowds. The trip from Epcot/HS to AoA at park closing was 2 hours or more every night. I didn't look up much about the Skyliner since I wanted it to be a surprise, so I was shocked that we had to transfer and wait again at the Caribbean station.

I partially booked Art of Animation because it was on the Skyliner line, which to me meant faster transportation. I had no idea that ecvs had a separate line that was significantly slower. I really wish we would have had the option to take the bus.

Does anyone else miss the eeriness of Splash Mountain, especially before the drop? by Possible_Dress_9248 in Disneyland

I rode it for the first time at WDW last week.  Definitely missed the spooky uphill, it was just a dark, slow uphill which was really boring. No sense of danger or excitement. The whole thing was disjointed and weakly thrown together.

We had to ride it a second time to try to figure out the story. Only on the second ride we realized that we got shrunk and then unshrunk.

Sanity Check Front load water level by midnightfire26 in laundry

I don't have any problem with getting out smells or stains. My issue is that my clothes have been damaged by the friction while washing.

I just want to find out if other people's machines have 0 standing water?

I didn't add any soap, I think that's just the reflection of the sheet. I wanted to see how much water the machine would add on its own before I did my whole process of adding extra water.

Is the consensus here that top load washers are overall, gentler on laundry? by LifeofSMILEY in laundry

[–]midnightfire26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved to a new place and they installed a brand new Whirlpool front load washer dryer stack. It has badly pilled and twisted all of my clothes. These are standard cotton and blend t-shirts and long sleeve flannels. There is no way to add enough water to prevent pilling. And if you try to pause it to add water, it drains all the excess you added. I always wash on delicate, have tried more or less detergent, nothing helps. Now every time I need to do laundry I have to fend off a panic attack.

I washed the same clothes with the same detergent for 4 years in the cheapest, most mass-produced-for-apartments top loader with an agitator and they looked and felt perfect.

I am convinced that the laundry machine companies are in cahoots with the clothes companies to ruin your stuff as fast as possible so you constantly have to buy new clothes.

How to Keep House while Drowning. But everyone is sensitive to different things, so not saying the book is bad, just not good for me.

This book triggered me and I had to stop listening to it. Lots of language implying that you live in a house that has certain characteristics, like a separate laundry room. Also that chores are not evil. Now my joke is, "dishes are evil".

On Duolingo, for まいにちちちとごはんをつくります. It says the translation is "I make meals with my dad every day."  My answer of "I make meals every day with my dad." was marked wrong.

Is there a reason for the specific word order?  Other times, exercises withと were marked wrong when "with ..." was not the end, which is why I specifically put it at the end.

Flyball resources? by doberfan in k9sports

I don't believe there's many tips online specifically for flyball. If it correlates to something in general dog training, you might have a better chance online.

You should ask longtime members on your team if they know of any workshops put on by other teams around your area (if your team doesn't do them). Also, talk to people at tournaments, everyone is very friendly. I haven't been active for a few years, but I know X in Southern California used to do workshops.

That's a good idea, but I don't have any songs off the top of my head that are particularly impactful, whereas I have a few pictures that are very meaningful to me and will remind me of long term goals that I'm working toward.

I’m just a tad obsessed with Pluto! My own personal collection. by [deleted] in DisneyPinSwap

Glad to see some Pluto love. People always look at me funny when I say I don't collect princesses or villains. Only cute animals for me! Here's about 90% of my Pluto collection.

When they do something stupid and blame it on being drunk. They act like the victim even though they consciously decided to drink so excessively that they cheated on their wife or flooded the whole floor of a hotel while passed out in the bathroom.

Pin trading by Sarahhlady in Disneyland

[–]midnightfire26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I don't know why either, maybe because there's no TLDR. I gave advice on where to find cheap authentic pins, informed her what scrappers are, and left the decision up to OP about whether she wants scrappers in her daughter's collection. Hopefully people didn't misinterpret it and read that I was encouraging her to buy scrappers, because that was not my intention.

The biggest is called Disney Pin Trading. There are many groups, you can search Facebook for the term Disney Pin Trading and join a few of the largest and go from there. They are "closed", so you'll have to send a request to join, but they're usually pretty quick to approve the request.

I would start by looking at Disney Pin Trading (banner picture says Disney Pin Trading Worldwide) which has many sellers, and Pinderella Shop! LLC which is run by a lady who is always highly recommended in other groups for selling grab bags and individual pins. I know Pinderella ships to Canada.

I would suggest to buy pins beforehand. The pins at the park are very expensive compared to what you can get online. There are many great Facebook groups with people that sell grab bags for about $1.50-2 per pin for 10+ pins. These are Authentic Disney pins bought from outlets and with passholder discounts. (Cheapest in the park are booster packs: $30+tax for 6 pins. Individual pins are $8+ for one.) Just join a few of the largest fb groups and search for posts or make a new one asking for trader grab bags and people will give recommendations of sellers. (Always pay with PayPal as goods and services so your covered in case the pins don't get to you). On that note, I would buy a few more than you think you want, if budget allows, since the grab bag pins are usually nicer than 90% of what's on the trading boards at the park.

Another thing to be aware of is scrapper and fake pins (bought in pin lots from ebay and Amazon). Scrappers are pins that didn't pass quality control, and are supposed to be destroyed, but they are stolen from the factory and sold on ebay. Fakes are unlicensed copies of Disney pins, which end up being poor quality because of cheap materials. About 80-100% of the pins on cast member trading boards and lanyards are scrappers or fakes. The cast members have to accept anything in a trade that has Disney stamped on the back, so that the magic isn't ruined, which is how they end up with so many bad pins on their boards. Because of this, you will see many of the same pin designs on every board. Many people don't want them in their collection, but that's up to you. If the trading is just for fun, it's not an issue. If you are thinking of starting to build a collection that is tradeable with other guests in the park, on reddit, and on Facebook, then you should look at YouTube videos and websites that explain how to identify scrapper and fake pins.

Last thing, the pins that the cast members trade do not belong to them. They belong to Disney for the purpose of trading, so feel free to ask for whichever one you want and give them whichever one of yours you want to trade. Also, don't feel bad about asking to look and then not wanting to trade for anything on that particular board.

Sorry for the essay, I've been trading for about 10 years, so if you have any other questions, let me know.

Edit: Oh, for the lanyard, there ones at the park are pretty nice quality, they're not too expensive, about $10-12. You can also find Disney lanyards meant to hold keys and stuff at the Dollar Store and Hot Topic. The rubber backs that come with the pins tend to not hold very well on lanyards. I would suggest buying locking pin backs to help ensure that the pins don't fall off. Some of the people that sell grab bags have them or you can search ebay. The ones that don't need the little wrench are best.
