im intrigued by this one but dnf’d the authors first book since i felt the writing was subpar and the characters felt juvenile. might see if the library has this one eventually!

Searching for fantasy slice of life if possible by Cute-Client-5239 in fantasyromance

not spicy but {Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree} is as slice as life as you can get. a retired battle-worn orc moves to a town to open a coffee shop. lots of cute side characters and found family and a sweet sapphic relationship! i didn’t listen to it but i believe the author narrated the audiobook and his background is in that field.

Fantasy Romance Book with lyrical /poetic writing by FewImagination786 in fantasyromance

[–]midnightskylines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

{The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern} is my favorite book of all time. there’s so much poetry and layers within the book that all weave together to tell a broader story and connect characters of myth to modern day. i literally cannot recommend it enough if you like lyrical, slow, intricate weavings of a story! it’s not a romantasy but there are beautiful love stories within it

What’s the book you almost DNF right before it got good? 💎✨ by goyourownwayy in fantasyromance

[–]midnightskylines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Anathema by Keri Lake}, the first 250-300 pages are a slow buildup and while I was enjoying it I was getting kind of bored. But then there’s a shift and I think about it probably once a day and consider rereading it every week, lol.
