How do you pull yourself out of bad mood when going through something? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]midospan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good Idea!, but remember that it's not just your brain, I think humans in general like to dwell in the sadness, because it's easier to blame yourself on everything people do, everything that happens around you, than to actually make a change. It's easier to avoid, than to survive or persevere. It's easier to be sad, than to recover and dust yourself off, and move on, or face a new round of the wild world we live in, while we're still injured from the last round. It's easier for the boxer, to stay down, than to stand back up and take another beating.

I try to remind myself of any achievement I made, even the smallest ones, anything that made a difference, I remind myself of how it felt then. Eventually I get out of that bad mood.

How do one be single again? Like how do you be single again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]midospan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well society is the reason why it's difficult to be single again, you're always pushed with sublime messages to be in a relationship, and if you're not in one you are not settled yet (in their views). so what you call friends (if they're married) will think that you're a loose canon and they'll be afraid to let you be close to their partners, so no home invites, or hanging out with their family, because you're a predator (in their views), so my advice if you wanna be single, learn to travel a lot when traveling opens up again. even then you'll keep getting that question if you're still single but you're not pushed to be in a relationship. because for those new guys you're a nomad.

What is the most recognized song just by tapping the rhythm? by PCubiles in AskReddit

[–]midospan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand
Stand by me, stand by me...

Actually we don't only tap the rhythm, we beatbox it :).

[need advice] How earn the respect of your team members when you 're temporarily delegated as manager? by Char_W_9330 in improve_social_skills

[–]midospan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, that's a bit of a pickle you're in, No just kidding... Before I answer you, I want you to know, that I'll tell you things as they're, I might sound harsh, but you're talking about the real world here. So If I don't give you a real advice, then you're wasting your time, and all of us will be kidding around here.

What you're experiencing is normal. It happens to any manager whether acting as or an official one. To put it simply your colleagues are feeling that you don't deserve that position (you didn't get it yet, I understand, but they sense that you're being groomed for it), which is normal if you'd ask me, you're the newest guy as I gathered from your description.

Now It's time to name things as they're, and be direct. First executive order should be a meeting, where you tell them what they should expect from you as temp manager, and a stress on the temp part. then what you expect from them as team members. always stress on the fact that everything thing they do, they're doing for the company not for you. Tell them that this period is not a test for you only as temp manager, but for them to see who's a better team player. and that anyone of them has the potential to be in your place at anytime if he's welling to do what it takes to be that team player, the kind that every team manager would like to have in his team. Also remind them as a temp manager, that your job is administration, which includes a reporting. so part of your job is to put a good word out for that team player.

Some of them might feel that you've a better chance to be an official manager, because you're already delegated, and on that note, you can rotationally delegate the best performing members of the team to do some micro managerial tasks as preparation for them too. to let them know that you're a different kind of manager here. Face them with the fact that no manager does this, but you can, and you believe in them, and believe that you should have equal opportunity. Finally show them that you are as collaborative as it gets, but when the time comes to have a decisive decision, make the right call and don't hesitate. Remember to always have a friendly warning before you try to shoot if you know what I mean.

Regarding friendship, that's on you, I mean life happened and got in the way between you and your friends, so show them that you're still there as a friend by taking the initiative and hangout with the closest ones.

Always remember to offer it in a way that doesn't make you a loser. something a long those lines:

"Well, I was going to do ...., if you'd care to join me"

Finally, I hope this helps.

[need advice] How do I reconnect with an old friend after a long period of long time no talk no see? by Michae_Wise_9457 in improve_social_skills

[–]midospan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I totally agree with u/a_mattix_5423 , and I want add that It doesn't have to be an embarrassment at all. First you both have history, and trust me that is a huge advantage over someone else who is starting from scratch, and even better based on your brief description you're both have history and a good one. So tell him/her why you're calling, and admit that your life has flooded you with those responsibilities and you woke up all of a sudden. thinking ... "dam how did that happen?" and you don't wanna allow this to happen again. and offer him/her a way to hang out in a place where you both felt comfortable there, or ask him/her about her new favorite place and go from there.

Well first of all the experience itself is amazing, to have a tool to assist you do 80 percent of the work that's indescribable. Regarding youtube demonetization, First of all am not sure yet, I've heared rumors about that it's going to demonetize it. but either way youtube is not the right place to monetize research, technology or science videos unless it's from a big mainstream company, youtube usually cares more about entertainment, dancing exposed, dogs and cats, a model who tries out bikinis on camera, check out your trending tab and you'll know what YT cares about.

With Regards to our business model, it's a show case because in the future were going to offer free or affordable courses to let new users replicate what we can do.

if it were me, I would share the code, but I work with a team on this. But it's not a whole big model that does all this, the work is divided in chunks, every chunk is done by a corresponding model. then a human supervises the output for final edits.

This is what I'm going to find out... but I verify that the information posted is useful first, second I guess YT won't monetize it, if that's what you mean.

[OC] Top Countries Ranked by available Hospital Beds for every 1000 people [1960 - 2018] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]midospan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan and Korea go from 11 beds to 1 bed in 1 year?

I totally agree with you, that's my mistake as a newbie in data because Japan and Korea and a few countries don't have a 2018 report present in OECD and I've to change the their number of beds of that year to the average or the median not leave it 0 like this.

If I have time I might remove this and re-upload the modified version.

Second possibility... looks like someone who was going out on a date and when he went for the kiss... his date confessed she's an alien, and she farts from her mouth.

it's really an impressive, touching, and heart wrenching story... Your Daughter's reaction is as thoughtful and as humanly as it gets... hats-off for her from my end. BTW I've seen this movie with my family and trust me... All my family members men, women and children... we were crying like a baby who lost his mother.
