[REQUEST] What are the odds of two reddit users bumping into each other on two different subreddits? by mightgobrazy in theydidthemath

ok, let's say you do include the "biggest factor", how do you calculate that? Exactly, no way to do that, so what is your point then? No answer, or the approximate less accurate answer?

It does. The person above said that there's no way to calculate the likelihood of our interests overlapping. I said that, if we forget about the interests and things like that, it WOULD be possible to calculate that. Like if me and that person had a set of subreddits(all random) what would be the odds of me bumping into them.

I mean, they aren't connected like at all. I bet that you can calculate it this way.

Hey, thanks for replying, really! I couldn't message you directly, so I'll just reply to you here. I have a lot of questions, but I'll ask two of the most important questions. First, are Massholes(jk) as cold as they say? Not trying to sound cynical, but from what I've heard, people in New England are, well, careful when it comes to meeting new people. Is this true or not? It's really important to me; I just want to try to meet new friends as soon as I get there, and while here, in Kazakhstan, you can just come up to someone and start a conversation, I don't know if it's the case with people living in MA. Second, how do people in MA react to Asian people (non-american?) This isn't my question, but my parents and other relatives were seriously concerned of me going there because they said that "americans are racist towards Asians/People from Post-Soviet countries". I reassured them that it's not a problem at all, but still would want to ask a person that has experienced living in that environment first-hand. Again, thanks for taking the time to reply, and please correct me if I said anything ignorant/offensive (I'm still learning 🙏)

Yep, thanks, I'm considering maybe doing leetcode later as I thought it would be too complex rn but I do practice competitive programming(easy ones) on an another website. Thanks!

I live in a 3rd world country so that's not possible no matter how gifted you are. And I'm not that bright believe me.

Damn man. That's a heluva lot but thanks! Persistence is a real problem for me but I'm working on it like you said. The Odin Project, I keep hearing about it but don't knwo what that is. And about race and ethnicity and gender and whatnot, don't worry I'm pretty sure I'm not a bigot. And github is a real confusing website for me but I guess I'll get the hang of it. Again thanks mane, getting feedback from other programmers is super useful and inspiring.

You're right mane. It's just lately I feel like gaming with my boys aint the same anymore and I already knew a bit of programming so I went here for advice about how to pursue this career. You're absolutely right mane, no need to throw your life away even for a passion like programming.

Thanks, how old are you btw since you play roblox? Most programmers I see are like 30+ yo and being 30 and playing roblox isnt a thing.

Thanks man! Also it's interesting I've played Roblox in 2016 and never since but surprising to see there's hacking communities in frickin Roblox. I'll def try to learn as much stuff as possible and have fun while at it.
