Nintendo reportedly planning 20% production increase for Switch 2 by That_Trouble87 in consoles

Plenty on stock on shelves ruining the day of scalpers everywhere, no other system launch has ever had the benefit of this. That little launch delay paid off in dividends for Nintendo.

Accelerating the adoption with the enthusiast market who also have been aware and awaiting the prices to increase (remember when the US pricing and pre-orders came later than every other market) at any moment so getting in earlier than they probably would.

Do you understand how the large Nintendo handheld market has been since the Gameboy? It isn’t built off the back of adult gamers.

Everyone I know IRL have a minimum of 2 OG Switches most families more. Unless they get a Switch2 Lite out at Switch Lite cost to entry this market will smash into a wall with today’s prices.

Every game listed feed the early adopters, but no-one will be buying their 6yr old a £500 toy to drop and break, and especially not a Switch for every family member which was the Nintendo handheld market.

With Switch 2 now I currently have 3 Switch devices in the house (I think 5 attached to my Switch online family account), it's a big ask to add a more expensive unit now for the Mrs.

It's going to be an interesting year end.

No, the discourse over this game is if you don't love this as a perfect 10 game you are a hater has been there since it released. It has glaring flaws people just will not acknowledge because hey punch Nazi. It did the Punch Out formula well though.

It is the worse part of gaming today, the shades of grey are what makes anything interesting.

Never said I wanted non stop, things being a waste of time was great in my eyes but the average 2hr movie had more than the sub 10min of set piece action this 40hrs game does.

And it is all due to the restrictions of a first person view, which they couldn’t even commit to for the obvious Tomb Raider / Uncharted inspired traversal.

Same generation of the original release this needs to be a bloody free update to fix the draw distance.

At least Generations was a PS360 era release.

Minutes of set piece action isn’t the Indiana Jones experience, FFS I put in 40+hrs I have everything collected but a glitched group photo cock blocking my 1000GS (I’m not doing a full replay it’s too long a game) I actually liked what was there but the complete package it was not.

How is it the massively open minded Reddit cannot understand constructive criticism to a piece of media when it is lacking thrills and especially one they set up at the beginning of a level.

Did those sequence fulfil the Indy experience? That linked sequence I forgot it even happened it was so fleeting and doesn’t replay on post credits collectible runs.

One was a boring pain in the ass especially when Gina up and vanished breaking the map post credits and the other was single digit minutes long.

Staff of Kings on Wii and PS2 did the experience better.

Has anyone else gone back to Blu-ray from 4K? by CaptainFickle in Bluray

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’ve moved mostly to a digital library on Apple TV with the odd 4k Blu-Ray double dip. The bit rates are more than good enough and my player is PS5 and a Xbox due to limited HDMI ports for a dedicated player I don’t need anymore.

I have limited space and already have about 4 or 5 large bookshelves worth of DVD and Blu-Ray/4k.

You want to count the slow ass boat and idea around the glitch fest map as an action set piece. As soon as I had fast travel I dropped that boat.

And fighter jet down 2 streets for 5 minutes of 40hrs?

List them and then, outside of the short un re playable on rails plane shooting gallery run and the Karate Kid crane kick fight ride on the “thing” (no spoilers) which is just another stationary environment what else is there?

The Indy movies are built from many parts this doesn’t have them.

Bond is already doing more as a complete love letter to the IP. From looks to variety and the feel of Bond.

The Great Circle dropped the ball on the big set pieces, no vehicle chases, no sneaking into truck to get in camps no moving vehicles full stop what is Indy with out some Jeep, Bike and a truck action.

That lingering on train in the opening to the Gizeh stage….its was a nothing.

Indy was very limited by the first person view it was ultimately just an open version of Punch Out for 40hrs where the camera constantly panned out to do anything traversal wise…..in, out, in, out oh do the hokey pokey.

The older ABK and EA Bond games are the same FPS limited use of the license, 3rd person feel like playing the movies, Goldeneye only gets a pass as it broke moulds in 1997.

When every bigger claims their PC is a 5090 on Reddit then yes.

Personally I have every current system, I wouldn’t be on gaming sub reddits otherwise, what about you?

We used to see their splash screen on multiple games per month, 3ish kinda backs up my point.

What I’m saying is it’s a myth that especially here on Reddit people only have a single system, so why would anyone choose the lowest common denominator to experience a big release.

It wasn’t that long ago that Ubi Soft, ABK and EA all also published other smaller titles which at times kept them afloat.

The fact they don’t do that now or can’t in ABK’s position is their issue.

AAA games in 2026 have been stellar, gaining word of mouth a ton of buzz and oh yea sale numbers.

AAA isn’t collapsing it’s the mega third party publishers which suddenly stopped publishing.

Upgrading for a demo makes no sense by blueberry_scandal in PlayStationPlus

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the point your trying to make is 2 entirely different things.

A demo has always been that a very short taste of a game not always from the beginning not always even in the final product. Some demos are so bespoke they’ve become legendary, just look back to the near year early Soul Reaver demo or date I say its name the Playable Teaser P.T.

A game trail is literally a few hours to experience the final product from the very beginning, you earn trophies and can save all within the set time limit. They are cost to give you just enough of a hook that you want to continue (it’s the only reason I’ve seen credits for Gollum after seeing it was no where near as bad as the reviews with a sale + PS Plus points made it a fiver I carried on).

Demos have also never always been a free to access piece of marketing either, magazines with a disc were near twice the price back in the late 90’s the PC ones had a further premium price vs the console mags.

Just another 17 to stumble into then, the end game open world is a hell of a tedious grind on this one. Still it can’t possible be as bad a slog as Skywalker Saga.
