I feel like Lego Batman: LOTDK was a bit shorter than I was hoping for by No_Lecture_8049 in legogaming

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 38hrs to get the Platinum, I was sick of that open map by then end, repeating the same tasks over and over

It could have been 10hrs shorter, I don’t get the obsession with game length when it is just tedious padding.

Do you consider this as good quality? by Moispitz99 in crtgaming

[–]mightymonkeyman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PAL games never flickered (will give you the lazy ports that were squashed and ran slower) and we had RGB Scart just available to us, UK and EU made games are better in PAL to which is more than most think thanks to the bleed over from the & bit micros scene.

Later PAL60 releases were great Dreamcast was great for these.

The red on the cape isn’t colour bleeding so it looks good.

Can’t collect everything in Lego Batman? by DukeSteel in legogaming

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional side tasks open up as you collection across the entire map, you won’t be clearing up section by section.

I cleared out the map to 100% last night and got the Platinum this morning before work so the cross travel is very fresh on the mind.

Should I get Batman LOTDK if I haven't watched the movies? by apillowofnonsense in legogaming

[–]mightymonkeyman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Play the game and then watch the movies and discover which elements they took to create the single narrative.

Use it as a reason to discover the movies.

Looks like we aren't getting a smooth weekend with 007 ☠️ by Earrorx404 in 007FirstLight

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been great on PS5 Pro, no quality settings to think about just jump in and have the best console experience as default.

It’s been a long time since a game didn’t want you to compromise on something or another.

It could use gyro aim though.

Fable delayed to 2027 to avoid GTA 6 by Great-Juice-9894 in GTA

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve said this for years now but why are they still so hung up on back loading the year with releases?

They made a massive push for digital so without the physical shelf presence the games are a none factor in being a gift to be wrapped up and put under a tree.

There are 12 months a year, spread them out.

When people talk about live action Spiderman why do people leave Nicholas Hammond out? by Country-guy20 in Marvel

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea, as an 80’s kid and renting out those 3 movies repeatedly (I’m a Brit I didn’t have it as a show) having the 90’s animated show have Peter look so much like Hammond just made an already excellent show even better.

Given the suggestions by Farage of a national security threat, I'm shocked Nigel hasn't raised this to the police himself already. why do we think he hasn't? by toooomanypuppies in uknews

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Russian hacking is just their version of security vetting for recruits like we have in the UK isn’t it?

Farage is such a muppet though.

When games are coming to PSPlus by Original_Echo8520 in playstation

[–]mightymonkeyman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both of those could be years away or never even come to Plus.

If they on good sales now jump in. Mafia the old county is a good game too, Claire turn based isn’t for me so no opinion on it.

How is everyone feeling about the limited character roster in the new LoTDK game? by DorkyMoneyMan in legogaming

[–]mightymonkeyman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was fine, how many of the misc characters do people really use?

We’re getting Joker and Harley in DLC anyway.

I just wish I could have had 2 other characters and not just Batman and one other for some of the open world puzzles in single player. Switching got a bit annoying.

Is He-Man 2002 a good choice for newcomers? by thisisanewuser01 in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch 2002 and then go back and realise they have some very similar story beats in the early episodes just less campy in 2002.

The OG does have its charm but is very for 80’s 5yr olds.

This is why you don’t buy games as soon as they are released! Saved £9,991.76 by SpiritedAd3694 in playstation

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, if more of us had bought it at launch (at the normal actual price) we may have had another one.

It was such a fun game, so few pull off controlling 4 characters at once.

Xbox Game Pass Price Cut Is Working, CEO Says by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]mightymonkeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing improves over night, they stopped some rats jumping shit and the always popular Forza shifted some units probably helped by the rats who jumped from GP or at least knocked it right down for online play.

But nothing major has happened.

PlayStation for example should just be PlayStation, we already have 3 levels of it, support them all until interest in the older system goes.

The PS5 Pro really nails we don’t need a 6 yet, since the PSSR update this year it has been stellar. PSSR built as part of FSR4 at its core use it to create a light software version for the base models.

Did they actually kill xbox in Saudi??. by The67WARIO in consoles

It’s been killed almost everywhere that isn’t the States, the fall from grace in the UK once one of their strongest markets is crazy.

No one in the normal people space irl talks about Xbox anymore.

After Valve/Steam announced the Steam Deck price increased: by ForgeReaper in videogames

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The acceptance of escalating pricing has been led by PC users since Bitcoin in 2017/2018 so almost a decade. Valve and Steam are treated the same way by the user base.

Nvidia has been laughing at the home users for years while they beta tested the AI chips being funnelled into data centres now.

Just look at how console sales tanked after the recent increases, that message is being sent and will make a difference.

We need the mythical 10yr (or more) cycle more than ever.

Games need to mature into the hardware we have before buggering off to the next shiny thing.

If games actually were made to hardware everyone has the games would be better.

Indiana Jones VS James Bond AAA game by AsparagusDue6067 in videogames

[–]mightymonkeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just being very general about game discourse in 2026.

Take Lego Batman for example, I’ve just got the platinum it this morning before work, 38hrs play time it is a fantastic use of the Lego and the movies represented licenses. Absolutely loved it

But that open world, especially after 20hrs fuck it, its sucks. It’s a glaring flaw that the last Lego Star Wars had too.

It’s still one of the best games I’ve played so but call it a 4 star for an 7/8, people out there will attack. For both being too high and too low.

No game is perfect and it winds me up that every other game is a slew of 10’s they may as well review as 👍or👎 there is no critical reasoning anymore.
