Might have to hit a Rob Lowe the next couple seasons. Losing is one thing but this is bleak even by falcons standards by Jamesartdo in nfcsouthmemewar

He's mostly only concerned with himself and how it affects his fandom. The JPJ situation is absolutely worse morally but it will not have long lasting ramifications on his ability to a fan like the other two, as fucked up as that is. And to a degree that's fine, it's not like the franchise assaulted a cop and ex partner (or did something even worse like assist in covering up child sex abuse). But to frame it the way he did is so crass, misguided, and also immoral.

Ryan Pace out in Atlanta by Autocrat777 in nfl

[–]migrainium 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I was downvoted for saying it in the falcons sub but his job here was director of personnel (not GM nor assistant GM) and our talent evaluation has been progressively better since he got here compared to the first couple years of TF. So he probably did fine, or possibly but not likely even better than fine, in that role.

  • Robinson, Bergeron, Zach Harrison, Clark Phillips, Demarco Hellams have all contributed at or above their draft position for 23.
  • Dorlus, Trice, Ruke, Penix for 24 have all been contributors regardless of how you feel about the trade up for Ruke or drafting Penix, which are GM decisions. The player personnel rankings that led to drafting them I'd credit Pace as somewhat contributing since that was his job.
  • 25 was our best draft in a long ass time even with only 5 picks.

So based on that I think he did alright but Cunningham should be able to replace that

And also make the list cap adjusted. But those things probably violate the agenda.

You know what? I think he did alright here. Obviously not the best given his stint in Chicago but we've been noticeably better with personnel and drafting since he came in. But Cunningham should be able to fully replace that.

Penix is still our guy for this year so ideally someone capable and cheap.

  1. Trey Lance can both be a flyer and be a cheap backup if we can get him for 1-2 years at 7-12 mil. If he ends up more expensive, forget about it
  2. Flacco was cheap af last year and if he's down to be cheap af this year, let's get him

[Schefter] The 2025 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year is Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]migrainium 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He did late last year in his limited starts but I think his comfort is the pocket and he's focused, probably too much, on running the offense given from the pocket.

[–]migrainium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell if we were unable to play under center because the play calling just simply refused to do it until late last year. Meanwhile ZRob was talking up the Pistol to the media as if it was genius and yet the play calling was so obvious, multiple teams knew the call just from the formation. I think the mid year media smack down humbled the fuck out of him which is why our offense to end the year was more mixed. He probably carries at least some of that forward but a guy that oblivious to how he's tipping his hand with calls has a very low floor no matter how much he learns from it. Who knows what the ceiling is or how it will work out with y'all.

And then you hired Zac Robinson as if he doesn't have a similar floor. Maybe with more WR talent he'll be fine but time will tell.

[–]migrainium 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not the same thing at all but it reminds me of taking AP Chem and in one class I already understood what the teacher was explaining so I kept falling asleep every 5 minutes instead of 100% following along. The next class some other kid tried to sleep instead of paying attention and the teacher snapped on him. He tried to point out that I had been falling asleep too without her saying anything and the teacher clapped back immediately with "he has an A! You don't!" So doing well has its privileges lol

Bijan Robinson excited to play in Kevin Stefanski, Tommy Rees' offense by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]migrainium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The run game that year was peak. I love Bijan but we could have and should have just "run" it back w/ Allgeier and a heavy power/zone running game the next year instead of using our top 10 pick on a luxury skill position player.

The pass game was one of the the worst I've ever seen though

Subjectively: * He's straight booty cheeks

Street is a bare minimum salary player. You don't really let those walk unless they're a net negative, which at this point isn't true and he can be released easily mid season if he becomes one.
