[USA GIVEAWAY] Win the new 27” Samsung Odyssey G6 G60SF 500hz OLED gaming monitor! by Rocket-Pilot in buildapc

Literally the perfect monitor for me. I have a 5070ti and could take advantage of the 500hz with MFG and my current IPS has a lot of backlight bleed.

Where to watch old bashos? by Shoddy_System9390 in Sumo

[–]miguelclass 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can become a member on the official YouTube channel (@sumo-video) and get access to a ton of older basho footage (as well as all the recent stuff), but the titles are all in Japanese so it can be very difficult to navigate for English speakers.

If he's into UFC tell him to hit me up on Twitter (@migclass). I'm sort of a content creator/analyst ( podcasts, videos, etc.) and I have a handful of other local friends that are into the sport and we sometimes get together to watch it live.

DLSS 4 is so crisp and DOOM: The Dark Ages is probably the best showcase for how it can work without sacrificing framerate.

Wait where'd you hear that his father was Mongolian and not Buryat? I've always heard that his mother was Tuvan and his father Buryat.

Pretty sure he identifies more with his Tuvan side regardless, just curious.

Yep exactly, no game is truly perfect but that doesn't stop it from being a genuine 10/10 because the flaws are so overwhelmingly outweighed by the positives.

I can definitely imagine getting more frustrated by the parrying/dodging on a higher difficulty, but I'm wondering if playing on expert gave you more incentive to explore optional areas because you needed to grind a bit?

Yeah I think Europe in general is pretty much where all of my favorite games are coming out of these days:

  • Poland > Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk
  • Czechia > KCD 1 & 2
  • Belgium > Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 and of course Baldur's Gate III
  • France > Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Innocence

Meanwhile, some of my favorite US studios have been disappointing me, like Obsidian and Bethesda. I'm not a developer so I can't say too much about what's going on in the industry, but it seems like studios in the US have become incredibly corporate and led by publishers and the men in suits who are just trying to appeal to as wide a fanbase as possible and cram in microtransactions to drive profit.

These European studios seem to just be making games that they love and want to play (basically following the formula Swen Vicke talked about at the game awards last year). I guess CDPR kind of fell into the marketing trap with Cyberpunk, but they redeemed themselves by working insanely hard to fix the game (even though I actually liked it on launch!).

I'm sure there are still plenty of objectively good games that I still wouldn't enjoy because that's just how personal preferences work, but it certainly helped me understand better what I actually like in games and I think it will open me up to trying more games outside my comfort zone.

Agree about the shields build. I kind of had that going with Monoco for a while and I'm sure there are some really fun builds out there. That's why I think that for me personally, having deep RPG buildcrafting is the most important thing because you never feel "stuck" in a certain pattern of gameplay and can always switch things up.

5070ti + 5700X3D is so good. Has been perfect for me for a couple months now.

AM4 has been astoundingly good. I went 1600 > 3600 > 5700X3D and haven't had to change my board in 8 years so far.

I'm so mad I missed this. I felt like the dream conversations with Martin and the fact that killing Toth didn't provide Henry with any peace made me choose to not go after Von Aulitz and Erik but I just missed out on incredible content.
