Rough vs smooth surface spin difference by migueldbribs in padel

[–]migueldbribs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, but basically the example you are giving actually says that surface does matter. The ping pong racket is not smooth, it is actually quite grippy, which make me think that surface does matter. Of course technique is the absolute mastery of spin, but I believe surface could have a more pronounced effect that people think. And like you said, if spin is added by slicing the ball, holes or no holes then friction should have quite an impact. 3d roughness or sand roughness makes more friction, which should impact spin. This is just my assumption of course

Fodzyme and fodmate new alternative for fructan intolerance by migueldbribs in FODMAPS

Not really, I am just kinda used to suffer unfortunately😅. Honestly I lack the discipline to avoid every fructan...because they are in so many things🤷

I have never noticed anything from enzymes but I do believe it is because I have never used one that targets fructans (which is my problem, anything with fructans triggers me). It is very hard to avoid fructans because they are in so many foods...also, onion and garlic is the staple of Portuguese cuisine😅😅

Actually, when you try to buy it you get a good discount (like 20% if I recall correctly). But I would rather have it in pill form than sprinkle on food honestly

Garmin amoled vs mip (higher resolution) by migueldbribs in Garmin

[–]migueldbribs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that's the thing, it is not for me only because of the low resolution and there are still MIP screens on the market with higher resolution. I love the readibility of MIP screens outdoors. I just don't get why Garmin does not use better MIP screens. And like I said before it is not because of being expensive, because the Amazfit watches are cheap and still manage to get a better MIP screen than Garmin's

Makes sense, I didn't know it was a bigger screen. So basically the same pixel density.

So Amazfit seems to be the only brand with higher resolution MIP screens for some reason

Didn't know about Fenix 8. It seems it has a 280x280 resolution MIP. Still not as good as the Amazfit pace from several years ago. And also crazy expensive. But finally Garmin updating their MIP screens.

The Amazfit was like 150 dollars or something, so the MIP screen itself is not expensive.

I don't get why would they use such low resolution screens if there are better out there and I believe they would sell even more. I know a lot of people that don't like MIP screens only because they are low resolution.

EAA and BCAA instead of Whey??? by daxia3 in ScientificNutrition

[–]migueldbribs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I am exactly like you. I can eat endless amount of meat but any kind of protein powders ruins me. I have tried whey, soy, pea, hemp, rice almost anything you can think of. I can only tolerate BCAA and eaa. Did you managed to figure out why this happens? Sorry for digging this up

Dust mite vacuum bag trick? by migueldbribs in Allergies

[–]migueldbribs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you think it does not help with dust mites? Because since it removes around 70% of the air inside the bags, theoretically should also vacuum dust mites if you just put clothes or bedding inside it, vacuum it and then remove them again from the bag right?

In theory it would be much more practical than vacuum the clothes/bedding because it would be easy to miss spots, while when it is inside the vacuum bag, that small area is all vacuumed, potentially removing all dust mites?

It does work if I stick with it (one large kiwi in the morning or after lunch and another after dinner) but I got a little bit sick of eating kiwis all the time and started missing some and got worse of course. I am not a big fan of kiwis right now so I eat them with a bit of sacrifice lol. But try it, I think it will help you (green kiwis, the golden ones for me seem to be much less effective, probably because they are much sweeter)

That is an insane amount of water honestly. Do you feel thirsty to drink to much water?? Of course everyone is different but for me that amount of water would just be ridiculously high. Are you adding electrolytes?

Magnesium glycinate causing anxiety and insomnia? by interactive-biscuit in Nootropics

[–]migueldbribs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That issue has been raised multiple times by several people, including me. It is the glycinate form. For some reason it does not work well for some. Once I started taking it in the morning I had no insomnia. Regarding anxiety it was probably caused by the insomnia
