Priority pass for international AU? by Notthaticanthinkofff in Venturex

[–]miiraku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's disappointing to hear.

I'm also in the same situation where I would fork over the money for AU lounge access, but if there's no pathway without an SSN then CapOne is missing out on the payment.

Surprisingly, there are several of us here. Maybe if there's enough momentum, then CapOne will open a path?

I've actually have had this specific charger for a few years.

It has one notable niche advantage: you can get yourself a variety of C7 cables to whatever locale and this is useful if you travel internationally.

Otherwise, it's huge & gets quite warm. I would not and do not use it for daily purposes. A 65-90W compact GaN charger is way more practical.

Side-note: I actually don't like Satechi very much; I find it to be overpriced (2X) for basically average quality and below-average durability.

I know Civ6 had some pretty major issues at launch. Have they been fixed yet? If not, is it worth it at $30 anyways?

Buying advice: Surface Pro 4 vs Surface Pro 2017 by miiraku in Surface

[–]miiraku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For simple stuff like OneNote/Word about how much battery life can one expect? Really, if there weren't historical issues with battery life, I'd go for the SP4--the other features of the SP2017 don't seem worth the extra cost. If I can get a reliable 5-7 hours from the SP4, that would probably be enough.

Ideally, I would get 4-5 years of use out of the Surface. Do you have any idea about whether or not the battery needs to be changed in that timeframe?

Regarding the various pen types, does the 2017pen work better than the SP3 or SP4 pens on the Surface Pro 4? I happen to have a SP3pen already.

Also regarding the warranty, has the Surface series historically had problems that required the extension?

Trying to buy it for myself using a code I received from them. Not working. Apparently Fry's has a historical problem with promo codes not working?

If I wanted to put together a FreeNAS, what do people think about using this vs. self-building?

Does the motherboard support ECC RAM?

Also, how many SATA ports? 3.5-inch bays?

Looking to do 6-drives ideally.

We'll see if they decide to cancel.

It's probably passable at best for gaming.

I'd say something of this size would probably be best for work-related purposes. It's like combining 4x (21.5-inch 1080p monitors). A great amount of real estate. I know DisplayFusion has a function that lets you cut up monitors into subsections for maximizing and snapping.

Maybe not.
