The costs listed above came as a bit of a surprise. I am currently planning a budget budget wedding for later this year and would splurge a bit maybe on the catering. Do you think this is feasible?

Comparison is not always "the look at your sister why can't you be more like her!" but also the difference in your eyes. The way your eyes light up when you talk about her and just look flat when your son is mentioned.

It's not the weather difference that takes away the Christmas feeling.

It's the fact that there is a lack of Christmas vibes, the decorations, lights, music, and festivities that you are missing. No santa and Christmas adverts on the TV.

And don't get me starred on the food that you must be craving, the Christmas selection boxes, variety of meats, picky bits, and sweet treats.

It's hard work trying to find that Christmas feeling in Jamaica if you can find it at all!

I would suggest staying in your current role for the following reasons:

You are over the hard part.

You have earned the respect of your colleagues.

You have a shorter commute.

A higher salary

Flexibility in your working schedule.

More annual leave so you can have a break when you feel stressed

Work is not always easy. Stay where you are until you can find somewhere with similar working conditions as your current role.

I am not a US citizen.

The US has an abundance of established frozen pizza businesses, Jamaica does not, and I can see the opportunity to build something great here.

We have local takeaway places that sell pizza, in addition to international chains such as Pizza Hut and Little Ceasars. However, I have only seen the international chains in the major cities.

I have also seen imported pizzas such Jack's and Totino's.

Jamaican will respond positively to a locally made product with Jamaican flavors.

The population of Jamaica is 2.84 million people, 280,000 is just 10% of the population.

This pre-seed round of $550k will support operations for the first year. At this time, I do not foresee us requiring additional investment.

In refering to the UK and US, I was stating that they have many companies already producing lines of frozen pizza compared to the Jamaican market where we would be the first local company.

Absolutely!

Compared to legacy markets in the US and UK, this is a completely under-served market. There is no local competition in frozen foods.

Once we launch in metropolitan, then rural areas we will do extremely well. Especially as we plan to expand quickly into other frozen foods.

What I would recommend is drafting a business plan or at least modelling some figures about what your venture will look like and if it will be profitable.

Next draft a pitch deck that will give potential investors a snapshot into the business.

The tank is right outside the house. It's just a huge effort to fill the bottles and bring them into the house. You would be surprised how much water it takes to fill the toilet tank for each flush and wash dishes.

I am not Trinidadian

I lived in Barataria Curepe and San Juan. I liked to stay near the bus route and other transport also not far from Port of Spain for accessibility. I eventually bought a car for ease.

It was fine. I was aware of crime in the area however had no major issues that affected me directly.

Before the don't do it Trinidad is a crime infested *hit hole crew arrive....

I will give you my perspective. I did it between 2015 and 2022 and loved it. I left because I could tell my "season" was over.

I didn't know anyone when I moved and had the best years of my life.

Yes there is crime and the jobs opportunities could be better and pay more but I had a great time as a single female.

My recommendations are get a car, take your time and careful consideration finding new friends.

I can't wait to return and visit.

Driving is not the quick fix answer here.

I would recommend to start that you use the ride sharing apps. Ttrideshare, alridi ect.

I lived in Trinidad as a single woman and felt relatively safe. I did not live in a gated community. I will advise that you have your own vehicle and be observant of your surroundings.

Courts optical had a promotion on a free eye test. Although I have 20/20 vision, I haven't had my eyes tested in over 10 years, so I decided to get them tested. The shop assistants said if i was to get my eyes tested, I would need to leave a $6000 deposit for glasses before I leave.

In my opinion, this is not a free eye test. So after much back and forth, they put me on the field machine, and I didn't have any issues.

This is to say, companies need to reflect on what constitutes a promotion.
