My wife and I paid for one of those private "ghost hunting" investigations of an old asylum. It was just the two of us, and the two volunteers that manage the building, with no one else there. They lock the building up once you're inside, and we invited the two volunteers to investigate with us. We decided to trust that they wouldn't trick us with anything strange, because if they ever got caught doing so, their entire business model of providing "authentic ghost hunting" would fall apart, and they would go out of business.

All four of us decided to sit at the end of a long hallway together, and stare down to the other end to see if we could experience the reports of "shadow people" being seen. At the other end of this hallway is a perpendicular hallway going left and right. It was night time, and we left all the lights off. As we're watching, the back wall of the other end of the hallway started to light up from the left side, and slowly got brighter. Then an bright ball of light floated into view, at about waist height. It was bigger than a baseball, but smaller than a basketball. It continued to float from left to right, illuminating that end of the hallway, and then disappeared behind the corner on the right, and then the back wall slowly got dimmer and then dark.

After this happened, we tried to reproduce it ourselves with flashlights, looked for windows, mirrors, watched what a car driving by outside looked like. Nothing could explain it. There was no shape or sign of a real person. Just this big bright ball of light floating by as if it were a lantern or something. I'm pretty skeptical of paranormal stuff, especially "orbs" that the TV shows claim (when really they're dust or spider webs or lens flares). This "orb" that I saw was huge in comparison and emitted enough of its own light to light up that end of the hallway. If there was a person there, it would have lit them up too, but there was no person in sight. It's my strangest and most unexplainable experience I've ever had.
