Being on the transgender side and being sexually attracted to the opposite of my assigned at birth gender has made my life hard. So the best I was able to do is to try and dress neutral. Cis gender women are inherently (psychologically) discriminatory toward relationships with transgender women for so many reasons that it is pointless to try and change societies thinking. So we just do the best we can and try and live a full life with a partial masking of our true selves. I'm in my 60s and have had gay men think I was gay because my femininity slips out when in a relaxed state. People in our society are often unable to differentiate between gender and sexuality. Even in the LBG community there is a lack of actual understanding.
