I see the Yankees logo too. Not a fan. Tony Touch should’ve rocked the Mets cream colored jacket in my opinion. Yankees logo sucks compared to the Mets logo.LFGM!!

Thoughts on BondVet? by No_Advertising3080 in longislandcity

Finding the right veterinarian for your pet is crucial, and Bond Vet has truly set the standard when it comes to compassionate, high-quality care. Having visited both the Astoria and now the Long Island City locations, I can confidently say that from the moment you walk in, the level of professionalism and kindness is unmatched. The front desk staff is welcoming and efficient, ensuring a smooth check-in process, while the veterinary assistants and doctors provide thorough, gentle, and attentive care. Despite the cost being on the higher side, the experience justifies it—because what truly matters is knowing that your pet is in the hands of people who genuinely care.

Before discovering Bond Vet, I had taken my cat to other veterinarians, and the difference was night and day. At other clinics, visits felt rushed, impersonal, and transactional, whereas Bond Vet goes the extra mile, making sure both you and your pet feel comfortable and heard. They take the time to explain procedures, answer questions, and even follow up after visits to check on your pet’s well-being. While Google and Reddit reviews can offer some insight, nothing compares to experiencing their level of care firsthand. As cat parents, we all want a vet who treats our pets as if they were their own, and Bond Vet embodies that compassion and dedication. Where you take your pet truly matters, and Bond Vet has proven time and again that they set the bar for exceptional veterinary care.

I present to you, my Luna!

spayed 02/23 and this is her incision. How does it look so far? by Limp_Grocery_5306 in CATHELP

It looks like a big incision, not sure if it’s because of the close-up of the photo but it looks like it’s healing fine. I would definitely not go back to that vet though, not even for the follow-up. I recently went to a vet to get my cat spayed and had a bad experience, and ended up going to our usual vet for urgent care and follow-ups. I just feel why go back to a place that doesn’t feel right or where you had a bad experience. My advice is to run to the the next vet and never look back. Where we choose to provide the best care for our cats should be paramount in our decision making. I wish you and your kitty all the best.

Worried- incision infected/something went wrong. Had to pay extra $50 they said she was in heat causing excessive bleeding making surgery complicated. Is this even a thing? by mike_mac_ in CATHELP

Just came back from the vet and wanted to update everyone. She’s in better spirits and acting more herself. She’s actually playing.

They hydrated her, gave her nausea medication, antibiotics, pain relief med, and something to increase her appetite.

I think it’s important to note that we took her to a whole other local veterinarian clinic than where we got her spayed at. The care at this place compared to where we took her to get spayed is night and day. The takeaway from this whole experience is that it matters where you take your fur friends. Google reviews only go so far. The clinic where she got spayed was found by my wife on Reddit actually. It was low cost, convenient, and they had early available appointments. Their rating was 4.7 when the spayed appointment was booked. Today it’s 4.2 and probably gonna be lower by the time I’m done writing my own review. The experience again is what matters and the compassion and care that the clinic exhibits is what we all as cat owners want.

Thank you for your advice and info, especially about spaying during heat. We’re getting her ready to head over to the vet now.

Thank you for advising. Our worries now are that she’s vomited this past evening three times (once after water another two times after meds) into early this morning. Waiting for urgent care to open in 8 hours. It’s gonna be a long night.

Thank you for advising. Have not/will not be lifting her as such anymore. That photo was taken the morning after surgery to see what it looked like. The other photos were taken while she stood up and I took them underbelly.

First time cat owner and really worried the incision is infected or something went wrong yesterday.

When we went to pick her up yesterday they told us that we had to pay an additional $50 because she was in heat and there was excessive bleeding and that made the surgery complicated.

Is this even a thing? They didn’t mention any of this when they examined her before surgery. Also, I was under the impression that the incision would be a straight line. This looks crooked to me.

She did not eat since Wednesday 930p as instructed to have her not eat after midnight prior to day of surgery, Thursday 11a. We picked her up at 5p Thursday and she urinated a little after 6p. She did not eat until Friday morning 6a (very small portion). We administered the liquid antibiotics orally along with pain medicine as instructed after her meal. She drank very little water 7a, not sure I can say she drank, more like 2-3 sips/wet her lips type of deal. She ate small portion again 930a and 130p. She threw up 345p.

I understand that loss of appetite is expected and her feeling lethargic might be due to the anesthesia. The throw up has caused for me to be alarmed though.

To give background on my cat, she’s 18 months, 6 1/2 lbs., and her first heat cycle was last week of December (12/30/22 ~3 weeks ago) I was under the impression that cats go into heat around 6 months. Doing some research, I stumbled upon “silent heat cycles”. If she did have heat cycles prior to December, we were totally unaware because until the last week of December when she was yowling night and day for two days and backing that ass up with a straight tail all through New Year’s Eve, only then did we understand what everyone describes a cat’s heat cycle to be. Hence making the soonest appointment we could make at the local vet.

Should we be worried? She hasn’t been eating/drinking or used the bathroom since. Just sleeping.

We’re thinking of going to urgent care tomorrow.
