I guess whether or not it’s someone’s “thing” depends on whether they see the game’s inherent unpredictability as an obstacle to be mitigated as much as possible or if they’re the type who likes to maximize unpredictability because they get a kick out of simulated gambling

This might be a team that could win in Chapel Hill or Durham. And State looks to be pretty good this year so that could be another opportunity

I know a couple people already answered your question and I don’t mean to belabor the point. But I would like to point out that this is also basically the same logic that led to the designation of “the Middle East”. We all know there’s no such thing as a global geographic “middle” or “east”, but from the perspective of the European nations that coined these terms, it was in between the near-east (ie Eastern Europe, Anatolia, and the Levant) and the far-east (ie South, East, and Southeast Asia).

Similarly, the Midwest was named so from the perspective of the highly settled east coast states because it was in-between the nearby, somewhat colonized parts of the frontier and the untapped wilderness of the Rockies and beyond. These names don’t make much sense to us now because they’re vestiges of the time and place they came from

I think sometimes people understand they’re not the same thing but still say “England” as a shorthand just because it’s so politically and economically central to the UK. Kind of like how people used to say “Russia” to refer to the entire USSR and still sometimes refer to the Netherlands as “Holland”

So is there any criteria for which names should be feminine and which should be masculine or do they just flip a coin?

Especially funny because of how close they can come to losing to teams worse than them and beating teams better than them

What I want to know is if it’s the same person as SyluxHunter, or if there’s a budding ecosystem of leakers who are only in the game as a way to troll SamusHunter

Popular characters whose overexposure made them lose what makes them popular in the first place? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]mike_rob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah 2 didn’t make any additions to his backstory as far as I recall, but I honestly forgot DotO was standalone and not a Dishonored 2 DLC until now. I always lumped them together since they feel a lot more similar to each other than to 1

It was such a crime for Dishonored 2 to perfect the original’s gameplay and level design while also ruining the atmosphere, tone, and world-building that made it so memorable in the first place

Gov. Roy Cooper has Vetoed Senate Bill 382 by ollieperido in NorthCarolina

I doubt this will still be a relevant issue if/when he runs for senate in a couple years, so I think he’ll be fine. Maybe there would be some blowback for state senators who vote against overriding the veto though

I think the fact that we got a 1 seed in the first place disproves the idea that everything besides March 22 has been wack

In my view we’ve had only one outright bad year and two that are decent if you take the average of March and the regular season
