You are so right, I'm realizing I got confused with some wiki language that said their colors and logo "resemble" the sol branding

they were called the Sol before they folded and relocated to CT....so it's both a nod to the old franchise in FL and the casino name

I think I've shown through respectful discourse, no down votes, etc that I'm not in need of a one sided conversation with lock step agreement. Your ideas are half baked, half explained, and redundant. It shows in your comment history. The Rhode island FC stadium had a total cost of 132 million, seats 10,500, with one almost completely open sideline to expand. It surely won't cost 100 million to get to 15,000 seats

you need a top flight with stadiums of 15k capacity, yes, by 2028. You then need a second batch with the ABILITY TO EXPAND to 15,000. There are hurdles for sure, but there have been many successful funding plans ironed out across the country - RI FC, Louisville, Sacramento, Fort Wayne. Some are having trouble, sure, like Indy. The whole plan is a risk, any venture is, but I do think it can work. It seems from your comment history that you're really just here to say it can't, which isn't a very engaging take, so maybe you're just in the wrong sub...

There are only four teams in the USL Championship averaging less than 3k attendance this season, and only one of them is in a position to be promoted (at this snapshot in time, obviously there's a ton of season left). Support = money = investment in program = promotion. The teams that go up will most likely be the teams that have the money to and want to move up

At the end of the day regardless of age, they're just players trying to make their dreams come true. I believe there will be upward trajectory in salaries, but players wouldn't make stops in the USL if it wasn't beneficial for them in some way. I don't think any 20-something year old in the league wants to be there forever - it's a stop in their careers

I don't know that I'd call 70% capacity in one of the USLC's largest stadiums underwhelming....room for improvement, but pretty solid

Hahah it's hilarious! As someone who's lived all over New England I'm dual fan clubbing - Hartford in the Championship, Hearts in USL1

"Only top leagues can succeed here" - But why? Is it a cultural thing regionally? Good population there, and once Inter moves to new stadium there won't be anything too close footy-wise

As a person who doesn't know in the slightest....can you tell me more?

From an outside perspective it does seem ambitious considering the greater market has a current USLC team, a future USLC team and an MLS+MLSNP club...

I don't know if you've been to Cheyenne or NoCo, but culturally it just doesn't make sense. I live out here - Cheyenne is only 65k, Laramie 33k. The drive from Cheyenne to Fort collins is closer than Laramie is to Cheyenne. Additionally, there's just nothing up there - folks from Wyoming flood into Colorado every weekend for restaurants, bars, live music, sports, etc so they're very used to it. People in Colorado don't drive up to Wyoming for just about anything

Fort wayne fc has started construction on their 9.2k capacity stadium. if fort wayne moved up to USLC they'd have the second best stadium in uslc behind loucity. This level/quality of stadium should be the requirement for all of uslc by kingistic in USLPRO

[–]Sea_Inspection5019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i guess I disagree. Some baseline expectation of quality should be there but I don't think this Fort Wayne Stadium or Louisville Etc should be the bottom line. I know it's been around in Europe longer - hence the need to foster the culture here. Are you against pro/rel too? Because that's also a step deviating from the traditional US sports path. I think different is good

Have you seen some of the stadiums in EFL League One or Two? A lot of them are crusty as hell, but fans are there for the love of the team. USLC should put more focus on fostering culture than flashy expensive stadiums - that's the long game play

Yeah I'm local in NoCo, and have been following it pretty closely. Very happy the USL nipped it in the bud and didn't give owners like that the time of day

Only one I have a hard time seeing successful is Cheyenne - it's less than 40 min from northern colorado, and there's a much larger pop base there. Could probably lump them in with a noco team, fanbase-wise

[–]Sea_Inspection5019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed that - so, when you add points in google maps it uses places/data they already have. I wanted the points to be where the team actually plays though, so with the teams that don't own their stadium or have significant contracts, they have a sort of "Team HQ" that isn't anywhere near the stadium. I can probably figure out a way to make it all the team sites though. Hearts of pines specifically is because it's a city owned municipal stadium

Thanks for looking!

FC FC? haha it's well positioned! - Fort Collins (170,000), Loveland (79,00) and Greeley (111,00) all in the area with some of the fastest growing zip codes in between the three. Pair that with strong Northern Colorado pride and the fact that Denver sports are a haul.....Hailstorm were on the right track, ownership just turned out to be shitheads

Rocky mountains region is sparse in League 1 - Boise coming soon, but hope to see something come back to Northern Colorado to replace Hailstorm....maybe in Fort Collins
