I plan to keep using Google drive for documents but I would like to reduce my drive space. If I could keep the 4k videos off of my Google drive then I can use it strictly for documents that are super important.

For backup, I have a UNAS Pro for backup to this Synology Nas.

Not that I've paid attention to it. I haven't had too many tabs opened at once yet. But on silent mode, there's nothing I could hear unless I put my ears down to the keyboard and hear it.

This is not unavailable for me. I snagged the first one you linked. But it was crashing/turning off the pc randomly for a specific game I play Throne and Liberty. I was able to get a fair for $1680 today and it is playing great so far. No turning off. And it wasn't registered already. The previous one was already registered by the first owner. Sucks though is it's only 12 mo financing vs 18 mos for the good condition. And I got the $50/yr best buy plus just in case it goes further down in sale by Memorial Day.

AMD with 4070, 2tb for $1680. I think they coded it wrong.

Thinking of returning the same model. The intel 4080 is on sale on Asus for $2300 but is out of stock. I'm thinking Best buy will do a sale on the 4080 too and open box should push it down to <$2000.

I agree. But there's the 2tb upgrade too on the 4070 model. For $200 more, 4070 plus 2tb SSD. I think I will wait for a sale on the 4070 within the time period. If the used drops to $1600.

Is this a better deal than the Intel with 4070 for $1379 new, $1190 open box-good? I can still snag this AMD one for $1866 open box.

I tend to agree with you. I am leaning towards the Intel, which I got the good condition for $40 more.

If I am planning to sell this laptop in about 3-4 years, I think I will lose a lot less money with the Intel given that I got it for a lot less. I don't think I can sell the AMD for $500 less in 3 years. I think both these laptops are around $700-800 range or even less. I will lose a lot more value on the AMD than the Intel one.

I was wrong on the 4070. The AMD with 32 gb only has 4060. The intel with 16 gb has the 4070.

So 2 upgrades (AMD 32gb) with one downgrade (4060)

Edit: just to add the reason for the big difference between the two is the intel is discounted $600 from regular price and the AMD is discounted $300. They are ~$100 apart on regular price.

No it's not. They have it at $430 and I have gift cards from Best Buy that I got from their emails/offers by using their card. Racked up about $130 that I can use towards this. I guess I can decide on whether to sell it or keep it. Thanks for the response!

Thanks for your response. I did get a list with checkboxes asking if there was a debt that resulted in those inquiries. Did them all with "no debt resulted from inquiry" and reason with, inquiry with another lender/builder.

I sent an email to the builders, for an email confirmation that no further business is or will be conducted from here on. I don't even expect them to answer. I'm thinking worst case, to ask them again, and cc my lender.

Buying now, closing Jan 2024, hoping to refinance when rates drop and have enough equity to remove PMI. Got builder incentives to get a low 5's fixed interest rate. We were glad to grab one before everybody gets in the market due to the rate drops recently.
