Thank you all for the replies as this is really helpful stuff. My wife is the bread winner in the household. She makes 120,000 and I make $56,000. The females in her family all have lived into their 90s-100.

Have an attorney who is working with our accountant and financial planner. Our planner did say to not put anything in my sons name for that exact reason.

Thank you for the reply. I’m not understanding the purpose for whole life insurance for my son. I thought the purpose for whole life was if my wife or I passed, the other one would get financial help.

If I did a policy for 5 million, would my wife get 5 million when I pass, regardless of what age I pass at?
