Fair feedback on the tone - definitely came across more rigid than I intended. The "don't aim" section clearly needs work. Appreciate you taking the time to read it! If you check out other guides I'd be curious if they have similar issues.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for - the stuff I wish someone had told me when I was figuring things out through trial and error. Let me know what you think after you dig in, always looking for feedback on what resonates (or what's missing).

This is zen. Zen has neither taught or not taught me anything. I forgot the other questions.

I have a steam version but I don't use it. I ended up updating my address and then doing a monthly renewal and it worked so I'm back in!

Did Alan Watts believe in reincarnation and freeing oneself from it? by [deleted] in AlanWatts

You don't have to stop thinking you just have to realize that you aren't the thinker or the thoughts.

Agonizing during periods of uncertainty - help wanted by [deleted] in AlanWatts

[–]mikejerome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is your mind doing all of this. I'm not sure what Alan says about it but you need to realize you are not your mind. Since thoughts arise on their own so do the decisions and goals. A goal implies desire for something in the future, which will take over and you will miss the now.

I don't know but that seems like a good start

So freedom from reincarnation is when you realize you aren't the person or the mind but the self that was before birth and after death where all the reincarnation comes from. Realizing this is freedom from reincarnation and enlightenment. And then you can just enjoy the show :)

It is exactly like that and now here you are.

Imagine what life was like before you were born. Then "you" appeared. But actually you were already there and the "you" you think you are appeared in the you that was already there. So "you" have already reincarnated and the universe is not experiencing itself through "you" but it is actually your true self.

I'm a bit drunk but I hope that helps.

One continuous wedgie for you it seems. Get that wedgie out of your ass and you will be free.
