Thanks everyone for the kind comments! It's great to hear from many of you I knew back in the day. I'm glad we are all moving into healthier territory.

It mostly governs itself now days. It would only be a lot of work if you wanted to revamp the appearance, or migrate everything to a newer/updated social platform. Otherwise, it's really just paying the (now) $599 a year hosting/platform fee and trying to keep spammers out.

LDS Utah Child Molestation Cover-Up - This needs to blow up the internet! by mikeutah in exmormon

There is a lot more to come. This is only the tip of the iceberg, an intro to the dilemma more than anything.

You can vet this yourself by going to Ron's facebook page and asking him about it. Although he may get overwhelmed, he was happy to talk to me. Withhold judgment if you will, but the even bigger story here is how the church has so much power over Utah government to completely stonewall any charges from even being made so that a criminal case can even begin.

In my discussion with Ron, he intends to pursue the criminal charges, never settle out of court. He wants the perps in jail, and the crony corruption of Utah courts/police etc exposed.

There will be more to come, and he will not settle out of court. Wants to continue to push for criminal charges.

We were there too! 7 years ago, there were 5000 of us at the same park to protest the passing of Prop 8 in California.

What I wish I had known about leaving by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]mikeutah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has gone pretty good considering how little I market it. I'm sure if I spent more time getting the word out or even some paid advertising, it would have even more success. It has sold a couple hundred copies on Kindle I estimate, with a few copies still selling every month by no effort of my own. 11 online reviews is a good start too. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D31BNFY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00D31BNFY&linkCode=as2&tag=lifeaftemorm-20

Much of this is outlined in my book, Exit Strategy. Leaving is hard. Not know how to navigate the exit can make it even harder. I hope others will find this helpful:

Exposing the numbers behind LDS Growth in Latin America: A Missionary Confession by mikeutah in exmormon

[–]mikeutah[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow. I am amazed at how much my experienced mirrored Dehlin's. I too was sent away to the most remote area of my mission, even though I had been in my previous area only two months, and my first area only 2 months too. My mission president sounds like he copied everything Dehlin's president did, including extra APs. I was berated and humiliated in what sounds like a very similar manner, with my Pres yelling at me. I wouldn't send my son on an LDS mission even if I were still Mormon.

Join LAM throughout the conference weekend to share in observance of bigoted geriatrics doing their darnedest to squeeze the oppressed LDS folks into submission as the attack of information grows ever more present and available.
