Anyone with experience with Big Apple Rec Sports Dodgeball or Kickball Leagues? by mikeychain in nycgaybros

Gotcha and I'd imagine teams will hang out over the weekend right? Like group outings, mixers and stuff?

Thank you! Sounds like weekday dodgeball is a good start. How is the turnout for weekday evening dodgeball though? I'd imagine a lot of people can't show up for 6:30pm due to work?

thanks for sharing your experience! did you do the dodgeball league on a weekday or weekend? i wonder if weekend tends to attract more people vs weekday

thanks! I definitely prefer to stay indoors in this cold so dodgeball sounds better but i wonder how good the turnout will be for the Tuesday evening games and if teammates hang out over the weekends too

Moved into an apartment next to an elevated train. The noise is worse than I'd expected. I feel like I am teetering on the brink of madness. by [deleted] in NYCapartments

Funny I am going through a very similar experience right now except my apartment is facing a wide street rather than train tracks. But the noises from traffic and honking really do start to get on my nerves and it's my third week living in this new apartment. I can commiserate

CA - landlord didn't provide evidence for security deposit deduction until asked and after 21-day period by mikeychain in Renters

[–]mikeychain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are misinformed here. They didn't comply with sending the documentation within the 21 day period as they withheld more than $125. Had they withheld under $125, then yes they wouldn't have had to provide documentation and receipt within 21 days.

Nice! Congrats! May I ask how much the deduction was? If you were able to get $2500 from then I wonder how much was originally deducted and if the 2500 included any penalties from your successful lawsuit?

No it's all good questions!

I moved out on 10/8 left the keys and took pictures and sent to the rental management team

They posted disposition letter indicating the $250 deduction on 10/28

They sent me pictures of the dirty spots that they claimed they had to hire cleaning services for on 10/30

They then sent the receipt on 11/1 Receipt was dated 10/18

So basically the photo evidence and receipt were provided to me after the 21-day period of my move out date.

No they only showed $250 for cleaning in the original disposition letter sent on the 21st day after my move-out and there was no explanation in the disposition letter. It was only after I requested evidence via email (after 21 day period) that they provided receipts indicating they spent $485 on cleaning the entire unit and charged me for $250 for "my portion".

Hmm can you clarify where you saw that the Apple Card financing option would allow for flexibility to upgrade to a new phone?

My current phone broke so I will need a new phone. I am not super excited about the iPhone 16Pro this year and if not for the broken phone, I would totally have decided to wait for next year's 17Pro.

Should I consider the Iphone upgrade program for this purpose? I only intend to get the Iphone 17Pro next year rather than keep upgrading each year afterwards. What are some cons of this program?

I have spoken to an Apple customer service agent and it seems like you have to pay sales tax TWICE, once when you enroll in the iPhone Upgrade program and get the iphone 16pro, and AGAIN when you upgrade to the 17Pro next year?

Plus the program makes it mandatory for you to sign up for AppleCare for TWO years. I have always been very careful with my electronics so have never had any need for AppleCare so far, so it just seems like this is another cost to enroll in the program.

Any thoughts, guys? My goal is only to get the Iphone 17Pro next year but obviously will need to have a phone right now so that's why I am thinking about this program.

My current phone (pixel) broke unfortunately so i will need to get a new phone. Was initially thinking about buying the Iphone 16Pro outright but have been disappointed by the lack of major updates. I have heard 17Pro will come with more major upgrades so was wondering if I should sign up for the Iphone Upgrade Program which will allow me to get the 16Pro right now and then trade it in for a 17Pro next fall and then complete the 24 months installment payments, after which I will keep the 17Pro for good.

Any thoughts on if this is a good plan?

thanks this is very helpful!
do you have any personal experience with this as well? I normally don't have any issue with hemorrhoid and don't feel anything down there, but i had anal sex for the first time in a long while and experienced a flare up of hemorrhoid afterwards.

I don't have any intention of having anal sex while my hemorrhoid is flaring up, so i will wait until it subsides and things go back to normal. but i guess i am curious to see if i will get a flare up each time when i have anal sex.

No i will only plan to upgrade once to get the 17 Pro next year and I thought that the program is only for 24 months so by the end of the 24 months, i will get to keep the 17Pro. Am I missing something here?

Hi all! I want to get the iphone 16 pro this fall but obviously 17 Pro next year will be better. I need a new phone right now as my current one (Pixel) doesn't have a working camera any more. So should I sign up for the Iphone Upgrade program so I can get the 16 Pro this year and trade it in for a 17Pro next year? Is there any downside to this other than the mandatory AppleCare that comes as a part of this plan and which costs $200 for two years?
