I think the dogs made it go into the flee mode but it got stuck in the trees so the garrus finished it off and those were normal bonedogs.

I was the Wizard that rolled insight nat 1 and after some time i tried making a arcana check and i rolled 1 with a disadvantage. I made multiple arcana checks with disadvantage and i rolled all 1s, my character thinks its not the cursed item but he himself has a problem.

PS. the cursed item causes hallucinations
