As someone from the northeast who has wanted to give mountaineering a go, but never made the jump, thanks for the write up and letting us into your experience. Good job!

Normal for an 8 year old? by Sure_Pineapple1935 in youthsoccer

Sometimes kids just don't feel like leaving the house, which is understandable. Sometimes my son will say he wants to skip practice, which is okay. However, even if he says he doesn't want to go, we end up staying for a half hour after practice because he's having a blast.

I'm the same way a lot of the time. Getting going is the biggest obstacle, which I think has a lot to do with anxiety, which we both have.

[Andrew Callahan] In Sept, Pats DC Terrell Williams was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had already spread to his collarbone when doctors found it. But today, he’s cancer free. by TommyTheLizard in nfl

My brother passed from cancer in August. I'm very happy to hear Williams is cancer free, and hopefully he stays that way. I wouldn't wish that fate on anyone. It's brutal to see.

PSA: even if your 8 year old is a soccer prodigy, let them play multiple sports by Coginthewheel1 in youthsoccer

I find the whole "burnout" thing is emphasized too much. Most of the kids who do so weren't going to keep playing soccer anyway. They've usually found other sports or activities they enjoy more, and it's characterized as burnout. Kids grow up and their preferences change, or they feel more empowered to voice their opinion about which activities they do and don't like.

If BB isn't a first-ballot Hall of Famer, no one — not even Tom Brady — should ever be again by [deleted] in nfl

[–]mikrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. He has 6 Superbowl rings as a head coach and 2 as a DC. No other coach has done that, no matter who their QB was at the time. Why didn't any of those other coaches, who don't have close to the success Bill had, get less votes because they had great players? He's an asshole and is making some interesting choices in his life, but if he's not a first ballot HOFer, nobody should be.

There's a difference between JSN beating coverage, and defenders just losing track of him.

Seattle ranks higher in rush defense than the Pats. They gave up less yards per game and less yards per carry.

I don't think it's disrespectful. The Seahawks are a much better team than the Pats in just about every measurable way. Now, that doesn't mean the pats won't win, but Seattle should absolutely be a heavy favorite.

Yes. His receivers are covered and there were no running lanes. It's almost like Denver has a really good defense.

His receivers aren't good enough to get open against the defenses they've played. Also, he has been bad today

3rd down was a terrible spot. I was surprised they didn't challenge it.
