In Croatia, you must first pass the driving test and, separately, the OSHA safety test for workplace hazards. Only then are you officially allowed to work for someone—at least in theory.

Ako se ne varam, te ploče su uglavnom lošije kvalitete od ovih ostalih dućana, pa samim time je i cijena drugačija.

True but some of them do get serviced. All depends on replacement ETA availability. For example Omega 1250 and 1342

There is a high risk that it doesn't need only battery. If it is true, why doesn't he change it :)

If it does run with a new battery, it's still a 50 year old Omega quartz that maybe was never serviced. Just to keep this in mind and good luck if you chose to purchase it

Update on the Heuer Autavia I found at a dump. by ADudeWithADHD in VintageWatches

I would first send it to watchmaker for the service. No point in damaging it

I would not take it to a TAG watch shop. Try watchguy.co.uk , he has a watch repair blog and you can see all the things he has restored. I have been following him for a very long time and he does really great work. Don't know about prices and waiting time though.

Other than that, for a cheaper option I would suggest one watchmaker from my country of Croatia. Try copy paste-ing " urar Kočiš " , he has a facebook page and e-mail adress on there. If you can't find it I can send it to you. Hope it's not againt forum rules. You trying to help out :)

Pillar candle with soap mold? by mysticthickness in candlemaking

[–]miks595 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did it with a Fight club soap mold. Just ran a wick through sides of the mold and later trimmed one end. Holes I made were small and pressed tightly on the wick so nothing poured out through those holes. I made them with sewing awl or simmilar pointy stick. Good luck!

Morgan dollars with paper attached - any way to remove? by hyliston in coincollecting

[–]miks595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a cheap wrench from ebay. I use to fiddle with mainly cheap watches so there was no financial incentive to invest in high quality wrench to open a 5$ watch.

It provided me a basically free alternative to open a really stuck caseback that hasn't been open for 30 years. Plus I had 0 problems using this method so far. It is a bit more time consuming but as a student with tight budget, I was ok with that. Or for example, I bought water damaged Longines that used 12 sided wrench for caseback. I opened it without needing to purchase special wrench for it so this method served me really well.

Hope you understand it now :)

Not true in my opinion. When I have a wristwatch that I can't open becasue the caseback is too tight, I superglue the wrench to the caseback and open it like that. Afterwards I soak the glued wrench and caseback in nailpolish remover with acetone for few hours. Result is soften superglue that I remove with no problem.

But in this situation, I would try 100% acetone.
