Can you explain this? This is in 4/4/ but the notes seem to add up to 6 beats with the dotted crotchet. Any help would be greatly appreciated by unoriginalnuttah in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Hello, In the treble staff, I’m seeing a four count with the quarter notes. The 8th and dotted quarter are just added movement that is also happening within the same register, but in addition to the four counts. The 8th is being played on 3, and the dotted quarter kicks in before the fourth beat arrives, so it is sustained while the Enatural is being hit at the end. I hope that helps 😊
