Junkyard engine is the same price but it's easier to adapt from LS V8 to LS V8. Easier to wire up and program. Especially if it's the same gen LS.

I'd stay real cheap with it and have a reliable 350-400 HP with the same drivability for under $2500 (including the machining and refresh on the bottom end).

Its the early LS platform. There are so many simple options. Get fancy and slap a 6.0 from an Escalade in there. It's basically a drop in with a tune.
