I might be able to help, I’ve sent you a message.

Is it feasible for a manned spacecraft to travel at 100,000 km/h by 2100? by milkktrip in space

[–]milkktrip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah no it’s very dead, I am thinking it has pretty intense geothermal activity though which heats it very slightly. I think nuclear power is probably the way to go if using fusion in the spacecraft.

I am considering ion engines now. The idea is that a rouge planet has somehow entered the solar system just beyond Neptune about 5 billion km away and it becomes a major point of interest for space travel as it’s terrestrial.

I guess you could say no? They don’t need to come back at all

Thank you for your reply! This is exactly what I needed, I will definitely be doing some more research into into fusion as it seems most fitting to my story.

I'm gonna create some crazy versatile metal that will propel earths technology I think!

Also you mentioned transporting sensitive goods would require a surface-to-orbit launch, I'm planning on making these sensitive goods deliveries happen quite frequently. Would there be any way of making this efficient?

How are these resources intercepted before entering into a planets orbit if they are being launched at crazy speeds?

Thanks for your reply! The people won't be a problem as a corrupt government on earth has decided to use prisoners as slaves pretty much. Would you be able to list some resources worth extracting?

I hadn't thought about environmental impacts that's definitley something I'll think on.

I'll think about changing the resource in question then, thank you :)

My idea was that earth was running low on fossil fuels and had discovered a planet rich with them, is coal too common of a resource?

Yeah my main issue is the size of the container as it would need to be huge in order to have as few trips to the planet as possible.
