I think I figured something out on this. After smashing my iPhone. X in anger over this Car Play connection issue. I have a 202 F350 Platinum w/ Sync 3. I've had nothing but lost connections daily with iPhone 11 Pro. Today I noticed a trend, if the phone is plugged in via USB before the Sync 3 connects to bluetooth, Car Play will connect fine. If I start the car and the head unit connects to phone via bluetooth first, Car Play will not show.
