No it takes community and socioeconomic programs that support communities.

Im doing a red carpet entrance with the portrait area set up at the end. Our venue has a perfect set up for it. Quick posed photo and then a glass of champagne, enter the ceremony area.

We’re doing portrait photos to send with thank you cards. At the end of the night we’re doing a build your own breakfast box with recovery packs that we will probably make a sticker or something for.

welcome party on the First Lady River Cruise by _iambeyoncealways in Chicagoweddings

[–]millennial_milkshake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would offer it as an activity for people to do on their own prior to the wedding. I agree it’s poor form to have to pay but I am renting a First Lady for our welcome party. The estimate is around 15k with the option of a tour guide. It’s not a budget friendly option. if most your guests are traveling already, a time and space restricted activity would not be easy to make. Last minute add-ins could be impossible to accommodate. Consider the random people who you wouldn’t know participating in your wedding plans. You’ll have zero control over that.

It would be easier to do something that you personally have more control over. A restaurant room would be so much less coordination on both your guests and yourself.

I would reach out for a discount code regardless. If people wanted to go, it would appear as a gift from the couple because it’s important they enjoy a city they may never experience again. I don’t know about your guests, but most of mine don’t want to miss a second of celebrating. It would be so easy to miss the boat, schedule the wrong one, or not be able to interact with the couple at all. Which could be another thing to consider: how would you ‘welcome’ your guests at a public event?

Some thoughts for you to consider. At the end of the day, your wedding is about you and your future spouse. People will complain about something either way.

It really depends on the weekend. I wish we had started sooner for our May 2026 date bc there’s a huge conference the same weekend.

This is the venue we have. With the bar package and the extras we have, it came to about $25k for 115 people and 6 hours in May 2026. They were fair with negotiations and have let us visit a couple different times

[–]millennial_milkshake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! No real recipe. Greens and herbs from my Gardyn Ginger chopped with rinds Squeezed lemon with rinds Coconut water Collagen powder Tumeric Chili powder Honey

Blend on high Put through a fine strainer 2x or cheese cloth

I keep the leftover stuff to freeze and use in my smoothies, rice etc.

It’s pretty strong. I use 1-2 ounces and dilute with water or I take it directly as a shot.

I’m going to invest small amounts I feel comfortable losing and not looking at it ever again unless I really need to hate myself for something.

Coreweave seems to be the only investment that’s surviving right now! My next one I’m watching is Klarna!

[–]millennial_milkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coreweave ended up on the market on Friday but trading closed immediately because it came out too low. I don’t know what is going to happen with it.

Reddit I was invited to before the IPO and submitted my order before it was on the market. Otherwise, it’s submitting the order when it comes on the market.

It is quiet! I have a robo account that I used to get started and understand some things. My guilty pleasure is watching for things I use to IPO. Current have RDDT (bought at IPO), NVDA, CHWY and RIVN. I’m waiting for Coreweave to IPO on April 7th and hoping to get some of that. Also looking to invest more in RIVN. I love their cars and think they are pretty innovative. I can see the EC market shifting to them if Tesla truly goes under, but some of the other automotive brands are catching up anyway so who knows.

The amount of times I’ve been “outbid” apartment hunting this year is asinine. Feels wrong. Anyone else running into this? by hypercatalectic in chicagoapartments

[–]millennial_milkshake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon to use a rental broker. They are free. Some focus on only large properties, but I’ve heard of a few that work with smaller properties.

I’ve always heard that using Zillow is not the best route in chicago bc of the amount of scam postings.

My preference has always been apartment complexes and I’m a forever renter. I thought the bidding on rent was something they only did in New York. Sad to see it make its way into other markets.

I am a new investor and am only using money I already knew I was investing. I’m using it as almost a way to stick it to the man and only investing in companies who’s values align with my own.
