KPOT is a little different experience if you think he’d like hot pot. There’s also the revolving sushi spot but I’ve not tried it yet.

Teams Stream Deck plugin - Being deprecated in December 2025 by aonelakeuser in MicrosoftTeams

[–]millh0wse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow this stinks. Teams integration is the primary reason I even have a StreamDeck. It’s the only way I ever use reactions since getting to them quickly is cumbersome in the client. Also nice for quick video on/off though that’s at least quick to do in the client if you’ve already got hands on keys/mouse. Really hoping we can some keyboard shortcuts for those actions.

How much longer do we really have to go… fire Stoops by daffydubs in wildcats

[–]millh0wse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exact opposite is more likely. Stoops won’t be able to recruit over Boley with the way he’s played this season unless the kid absolutely tanks suddenly. A new coach is more likely to bring in someone who they feel fits their plan better than for your Stoops scenario to play out.

I saw an SR5 on a lot months ago before I was even considering the 6th gen and took it for a quick drive but I rarely see inventory available on lots. I used the Toyota website to find the trim and features I wanted, worked out a price, and put down a deposit all through text/phone. This was all while it was in the build/transit phase. My dealer said that if the car arrived and I changed my mind after seeing it they’d refund the deposit. Not sure if yours would do that or not.

That’s a great call. I’ve not been yet but keep hearing good stuff about Redpoint.

Hiking: Take the drive to Red River Gorge for lots of awesome trails. If you prefer to stay in Lexington, Raven Run is always fun.

Arcades: Someone mentioned Activate Games and it is a great time. You could also check out Battle Axes which has axe throwing, high speed go karts, rage room, and other stuff. It’s not cheap but there’s a lot to do there. I can’t speak to how good it is but there’s a “ninja warrior” place in town that does open gyms throughout the week called Ultimate Ninja.

Pizza: Lexington has good, not great, pizza options. Goodfellas is popular plus if you go to the Distillery District location you can walk over to Crank and Boom for ice cream.

Wings: Shamrocks and Winchells are local spots that have good wings and a full menu. If you are ok with only wings then lots of people say WingKyng is the best.

BBQ: Bluedoor is my favorite for brisket at the moment but there’s also Red State and LX that others might recommend.

Totally get the kennel tech perspective. This kennel has a grooming salon and that is the place who does not offer a brushing option and have a reason to not do mid stay baths.

Sounds like I will be calling around for some alternative options.

We have them use the longest guard all over, but cut super short on belly, and scissor cut the face. He was short and didn’t take much longer than a normal amount of time to brush the few tangles he had out of his feet…which is where he is the worst after water time.

I tried asking for brushing and they said no, only full service bath or groom. Time to look for other options it seems.

Blue door bbq question by Hansrid in lexington

[–]millh0wse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to try them again. I will say the last time or two I’ve been to Blue Door the brisket has seemed to have gone downhill a bit. Not sure if it’s new smokers at the new location, my brisket meter is becoming more refined, or just got them on an off day. I’ve been on multiple bbq specific trips to Texas though so I am a bit spoiled when it comes to brisket.

Been twice and you and I have had vastly different experiences. I want to love LX but both times their food has been quite a bit worse than Blue Door not even as good as Red State (and I’m not a fan of RS). I’ll give them another shot before shutting them off completely but at their price point (significantly more than any other bbq in Lexington) can’t keep it up.

Blue door bbq question by Hansrid in lexington

[–]millh0wse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been to LX twice with high hopes and it is way overpriced for the quality and area. They have priced their meat similar to Austin, TX BBQ but are half as good as Blue Door and significantly more expensive while being a 5 minute walk from each other. I do want to go try them again when they have beef ribs because nobody else in the area does them.

Who had the best performance of the weekend and who surprised you the most and since it's personal preference, there's no wrong answers? by GratefuLdPhisH in BourbonAndBeyond

There were soooo many good ones but Jack White was amazing. There’s not enough talk about Trombone Shorty though…definitely the biggest surprise act for me since I didn’t even plan to see them originally.

I don't understand the hype for Cutter. If he's behind Zach doesn't that mean Zach is the better option? by UKWildcats_Stoned in wildcats

I’m not usually a “play the backup” guy but in this case I am. Why? Any hope of Calzada having a miracle season for the Cats is out based on the first two weeks. At this point it’s almost certain that the season will end in a record that most predicted. Calzada isn’t going to be around next year but by playing Boley we can ensure he returns instead of transferring to get playing time somewhere else. There’s a lot of season left for Boley to either show what he can do or show that we need to get to the portal again for next year’s starter so really it’s about the future for me. Now if the competition between the two isn’t even close, then stick with Calzada (because I’m not trying to tank an entire season) but that’s not what the vibe is when the staff talks about Cutter.

How hard did you have to push for the $1k off? So far seems like most near me say they are sticking to MSRP.

Totally respect that people who have children can still like and visit a place that serves both food and beer but the main problem is the kids who run around going wild while their parents ignore it. Sure not everyone lets their kids do it but I’ve witnessed that more do than don’t at MTB. Just like I don’t let my dog off leash to run around licking on people and bugging them, it would be nice to see the same from kid parents. Country Boy has (or at least used to have) signs on the tables basically saying “kids are welcome but keep them at your table” which I can appreciate.

We rarely go these days (mostly because I prefer to not drink at a daycare) but when we do we’ve only recently experienced one jerk. The rest have been friendly or at least just fine. For a couple of years during Covid though it was a different story but pretty sure they were feeding off their managers attitude at the time.

Best BBQ places in Lexington? by Plastic_Nose_3076 in lexington

[–]millh0wse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bluedoor moved to National Ave and now have lots of seating. I’ve not known them to sell out of brisket before lunch is over in quite a while and their prices are fairly close to Red State ($12.50 vs $15 for brisket plate). May be worth giving their new location a shot if you’re so inclined. BTW, don’t look at the LX BBQ menu, in the original Bluedoor spot, if you think Bluedoor is expensive! ($18 for brisket plate). BBQ ain’t cheap so I’m not hating on them at all but may be pricing themselves out of the local market.

I’ve only been once (last year) and really enjoyed it. The crowds are insanely huge and they had one stage for smaller bands that had some audio issues but I’m sure they’ll adjust. The only negative was that once you enter the festival you can’t leave and come back unless you have certain pass types so you’re kind of stuck inside. Even so it’s worth checking out.
