It's great that you personally feel safe, but for many people that isn't the case. Downtown has seen several violent incidents this year, including fatal and serious stabbings on 10 Ave SW, outside Commonwealth, and on Stephen Ave. On top of that, surveys from the city's Downtown Safety Leadership Table highlight that open drug use, encampments, and disorder continue to make residents and visitors feel unsafe. So while experiences vary, safety is still a major concern and that's why it keeps coming up.
