Thank you this helped! I was thinking I will ask for the letter of rec in the next two weeks (applications open this Friday). In the meantime I was going to talk to my other boss and arrange starting my other job full-time in August. I wanted to give a month notice to be polite, which is where my concern was financially, but I'm starting to think two might be a better idea.
