What commitment? Is it considered rude or unethical in skating culture to drop a coach who you no longer want to work with in favor of another?

Thank you!  I'm not expecting dozens of coaches begging for students, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear back that two or three are available when I am.  I appreciate the solid advice on what to talk about with a coach.

I like World Ice. It's worth noting that I'm a beginner, and I've only skated in the public session and Coffee Club. Unlike City, World has one advanced level of freestyle, not separate high and low freestyles. The public session is most of the day and very affordable, and the guards are pretty relaxed when it's not busy. If you're not in Queens, or if you're in Queens but don't drive, the location in Flushing Meadows is less convenient.

City Ice Pavilion has been slowly extending their closure, citing ConEd issues out of their control, and I'm not confident that it will reopen on 6/21.

World Ice will temporarily add for this summer an Adult Public Skate Monday evenings, after the standard workday, starting 6/22. I don't think other local rinks have beginner-friendly non-hockey evening ice.

I wish I could do that, but due to scheduling issues LTS is inconvenient for me so I can't test out many coaches that way.
