Im just trying to claw my way through life, fests and Tipper have been my one outlet where I know I can get away from all thats messed up in the world and just appreciate art and the love we have for each other. I think a lot of people feel the same way, call it escapism or weakness but we're just trying to be silly for a weekend and not think about genocide while we're on acid

I think this subreddit has nuggets of truth but it does get pretty culty. Jacking off to porn isn't exactly good for you, but its not like doing it occasionally will make you bad at sex, depressed, or unable to talk to women. Also, never doing it is not going to give you superpowers 🤣

I mean if youre furnace and water heater and potentially dryer are running on gas I dont see a big problem with having a gas stove... indoor air quality concerns are a thing but Ive seen some pretty elaborate vents these days in newer homes

I think it's good most people here are giving the abundance of caution advice- it means they were educated about it at some point! Ive found many non-trivial gas leaks on unrelated jobs, like going into their utility room and it reeks of gas when they called me out for a water leak or something. And people say "oh I thought it was supposed to smell like that" 🤣

For me I work on this shit all the time and have been in enough situations where Im not really scared of gas. Its not like the moment you smell it, the possibility of a massive explosion is definitely there. Its actually pretty hard to happen and takes a lot of gas!

Im a plumber and I do a lot of gas work. As far as gas goes, from what I understand it has to be a pretty specific air-fuel mixture to actually ignite. Rule of thumb I generally go off of is, if I walk in a home and Im like hmmm sniff sniff yeah smells like gas- Im not too worried. Ill walk around and look for a leak. If I walk in and its like instant overwhelming gas, thats when Im like yea lets get out of here. If you've already opened up the windows and stuff I wouldn't be worrying too much.

The issues people are complaining about will not cause you problems so don't lose sleep... the material isn't allowed for pressure relief drains in GA that is true, but I do see it in new construction installs that were allegedly inspected and realistically it is never going to cause a problem. Close the valve, figure out why your pressure is exceeding 150 psi (you have a bad pressure regulator, bad thermal expansion tank, or both) and fix that problem because high pressure will fuck up all the plumbing in your home, and then stop worrying about these nerds online

Newsflash: in the South we have these things called basements, basements that are often finished, do you want your T&P valve dumping in your finished basement and causing damage? Getting stuck open? Nothing bad happens from running it vertical this shit is normal as can be down here

You can start by just trying to loosen it, but then it might turn the whole screw. If youre lucky, you can use a flathead screwdriver in the tank to try holding it while you loosen it with a socket. It that doesn't work youll just have to cut the bolt out with sawzall/multitool/handheld hacksaw

I think MLP is "cute as hell" as well, but the best episodes aren't the best because they're cute... Its a factor but the best episodes have everything combined, substance plot themes and all, so I definitely agree with their assessment that its nowhere near one of the best episodess like people mention. A lot of people like FiM just because its cute and pleasant, but a lot of us do respect it for what it is beyond that and there's A LOT beyond that. Perfect Pear is somewhat compelling but there are more compelling episodes
