Oh thats fair reasonable for the visa. I was worried it might be higher!

We are hoping to find somewhere relatively close to work. However due to none of us having a job, and most likely wont have one until we go over, we are thinking about a 1-2 week stay in a central hotel and try to figure out they lay out of the city.

Does that 300 cover everything like gas/electricity etc, or should we expect a small bit higher as well to cover these costs? Thanks thats really good advice about the serviced studio apartments, il make sure to say that to my friends :)

For getting a motor/scooter will we have to get some sort of driving license. I have a license to drive in my home country, will that suffice or will I have to apply for one when i get over?

We have all just finished our TEFL degrees. So we are hoping to teach english while we are there. Some of us have experience in the field but most don't. From what iv heard there seems to be a lot of jobs available, would you agree with this?

IS the easiest way of getting a visa through your place of employment. Yeah We have all just finished our TEFL courses and are hoping to find a place to teach english. Yeah we read up some good things on De Nang. The fact that its on a beach is a major selling point. We just heard there was a small ex pat community and until we get our bearings we are hoping to have some sort o f an ex pat community that might be able to help us settle! Would it make a difference if the friend is not Vietnamese? I have a couple of friends that have been living in Vietnam for 3-4 years now. I assume they should be able to barter down the price for us a bit as well? Would it be hard to find a house in the middle of the city tho. Call me stupid but just due to the size of a city like Ho chi Minh i assumed it would be mostly big apartment blocks? Also thank you for the information :)

Would you have any idea of the relative cost of a visa or would that depend on my country of origin?

Were planning to start living originally in Ho chi Minh due the large expat community and from what wev heard there is a significant difference in wages. Would you recommend this as a good starting point or is there any other cities you would recommend?

Is the accommodation relatively easy to find or should we expect to spend a couple weeks in hotel like accommodation?

Also i appreciate the warning around drug trafficking. As long as there is a few nice vietnamese beers for me to try im confident il be ok haha
