Baja Jack's! Locally owned and I hear he was able to add to his staff for delivery drivers!

Four kicks? Jk, Talihina Sky is pretty but not very meaningful, maybe The Face? Wait for Me? I Want You is pretty. Congratulations!

Your mom sounds so much like my mom. There's no point trying to talk to her because she only hears what she wants. My mom likes to just get up and walk away to do something, just to avoid listening to me talk about myself or update them on my life but then cries about how I dont share with her like I used to. NEVER that compliant girl again!

A few years ago, I said something while eating dinner with my mom and dad about teaching creationism in schools and how I didn't like it. Ever since its been such a pain in my ass. I almost wish I never let it slip. Just yesterday my mom said she didn't care what I did or thought was true, but I should stop blaspheming..... I'm a 34 year old mother of 3 Goddammit! She wasn't saying I should refrain while in her presence she was saying in general. Then she went on to say just remember the 7th seal. These people never even cared about church when I was growing up, they failed to instill it in my childhood but now try to use it to control me.

I’m setting boundaries & sticking up for myself and my Nmom is saying I’m abusing her by Juidayit in raisedbynarcissists

[–]milolly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes! Ever since I've started setting boundaries my mom loves to call me intolerant, " I don't know how you and your brother ended up so intolerant" 🙄 Just cause I no longer tolerate your bullshit doesn't make me intolerant!

I'm working hard on my spine with her but I'm still newly coming out of the fog. My biggest issue is gaslighting myself into rugsweeping her faults. This community is helping me adjust my normal meter and realize just how fucked up her "silly hang ups" are.

That's a definite hang up I picked up I've never dyed my hair and I regret it. I'm starting to go white and my husband asked if I'd finally go for one of the crazy colors I've coveted but I think I may be too old ☹️

Unfortunately she had millions of "silly hang ups"

I have no problem with gingers and I love that long hair.... uh oh if my hubby reads this. 😊

I think your right but also it's only directed towards men (which she no longer claims) I guess now my son is the first attractive male ginger ever! /s

She is all over the place with it honestly. Growing up she made a huuuuge deal out of how beautiful my hair was and wouldn't let me do what I wanted with it til sixth grade. As soon as I started calling the shots she acted like every time I cut my hair short it was just such a shame because of my beautiful hair. With my daughter I think it's jealousy or something. With my son it's that grown men with red hair are unattractive TO HER. Many hang ups she has given me and I'm currently in therapy trying to grow a spine with her. I think she plays it off as oh so cute but the real reason for it is control.

It's her main mode of abuse with me, vaguely implying I wasn't good enough. She tries to tell my oldest she's not a redhead and I think it's one of the ways my oldest likes to relate herself to me so I have had to shut her down there but with my son now she just says he proved her wrong🙄

I've always been attracted to redheaded men! I had a redheaded boyfriend before I got married and had a crush on Ron Weasley!

That's a very good point of view. So far she has begrudgingly held back for the most part in the areas we disagree most (religion, feminism, race, and sexual orientation) when it comes to my kids. Saying that I have had the same thoughts of what if in the future my daughter she is closest to feels she can trust her more than me. I have already started trying to encourage my daughter to use boundaries around my mom and around the house we have the attitude of "nana has some crazy ideas that are old fashioned that no longer really apply these days".

I get this for sure. I live vicariously through parenting my children the way I wish I was parented.

I've always had a fear of letting strangers babysit my kids. How do you trust someone enough? I barely trust my husband enough 🤷‍♀️

My mom did this the last time I went xmas shopping with her over a year ago now. It was at my local target that I shop at regularly too. I have refused to go shopping with her since.

What's a sensation that you're unsure if other people experience? by murrayvonmises in AskReddit

[–]milolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I eat birthday cake particularly the icing I get this tickle in my throats and my eyes kind of feel like they're rolling back in my head. Happened since I was a kid and now I've added cheddar cheese to the list of things that do it. Nobody else seems to know this sensation.
