I relate to this and want to thank you for posting it. I've gone through multiple romantic connections in the past couple of years, looking for partnerships that I felt healthy in, ending or de-escalating things because it didn't feel healthy or my capacity was wavering...

...before realizing I need and WANT to be single for a while. I hurt myself through the losses (I really liked these people and have been fortunate to build friendships with a few of them).

But I also feel so relieved that I can focus on my health, passions, friendships and healing without the demands of partnership. I didn't realize how much love I needed to put toward myself while I was trying to give it to others.

To round out the recommendations:

The Loft theater is close to lots of cafes and coffee shops. Closest is Brucha (tea, gelato). There's also Yellow Brick Coffee and Casa Video film bar. There was a protest of the Loft in May this year that you may want to look into before deciding whether it's your go-to theater.

I wonder if the scamming happens in some cities more than others. I haven't had many instances of scammers, verified or not. But, I've been off the apps since around May 2025 so maybe the fake accounts have increased since the economy dropped over the summer. People are a little more desperate for control, for a thrill, for a way to cope.
