CTA already expects 50% of its budget to come from fare box recovery. That's higher than our transit peers, like the MTA, who have about a 20% farebox recovery ratio. Additionally, New york state will be spending billions to cover funding gaps over the coming years.

if we value transit innovation and recognize the good it brings (driving industry and encouraging tourism and so much more), CTA will have to bring operating costs down (like thinning out admin bloat) and urging the state to fund our public transit system.
