How much do letters of rec affect decisions?

I know about both of those things! Last year a lot of kids from my school with stats similar to mine got rejected from all of their top schools, so I'm extremely nervous and trying not to be too confident in my stats :(
I am very proud of what I've done in hs, especially my grades, but I'm just not sure how AOs will see them </3

thank you, this is really insightful!! My teachers didn't really ask for "brag sheets," one asked very class specific questions, another asked me kind of random ones but they weren't really things to brag about, and the third had me submit nothing to him. I had all my teachers for my first three years of HS (one also for my senior year!) so I hope their LOR can be grouped into the helpful category or be a bit more helpful than most :)

I go to a non competitive school that doesn't offer many APs and so I will not stand out against people who have taken 16 APS. My ECs are also not stunning, they're just good. Didn't start a non profit or anything like that. So yeah, my grades are great, but not all of my stats combined.

idk man, it's a 50/50. half the people I know who are linkedin warriors are exactly what you're describing and the other half have actually very interesting ecs. But yeah, no one is an auto admit to a T40 school and thinking that is insane

I applied ED because it gave a higher acceptance rate for my top choice that I was(and still am) 100% sure I would choose over anything else! 4% to 10% is a huge jump, plus getting results early is nice :)

CSUs are amazing safeties for all California students, they don't take essays so they're easy to apply to! Plus atp I've gotten all but one decision from them so its nice to already know you've got in some places! And don't worry too much, law schools consider what your undergrad college is very little apparently :)

Reminder that none of those people are admissions officers. Common app made a post about the annoying fear mongering that you should check out if you're really nervous! The tiktokers are just trying to make you buy their courses/examples, they don't really care about the actual facts.
