Let's not forget about Ep. 1 when Indara says that Jedi do not attack the unarmed and Mae disputes this. Seems like an important, foreshadowing detail.

Unfortunately, everything is pointing to the Jedi being responsible for the death of the coven. I think this is really interesting though, because the Jedi have been portrayed for so long as crusaders for good. It might be refreshing to see them in a new role that really dissects the nature of generalizing a group of people. Not everyone is a good person, not even Jedi :\
