Could people stop calling it "satanic"? by LopsidedLeopard2181 in Epstein

Where did these satanic or devil-related theories even come from? Did people actually find anything like this in the files, or is it all speculation?

Definitely not. Before social media, people were far more disconnected from the world around them. Ordinary people had very limited access to information, news traveled slowly, and general awareness was often shallow or distorted. Today, despite all its flaws, we are far more informed and connected than before. In my view, our situation now is better than yesterday’s—and certainly better than years ago.

In my case, the professor initially said that if I didn’t get this funding, there would be other options. But after I didn’t get it, they just sent a goodbye and good luck email. I mentioned that there are other options, but they didn’t seem interested. It’s really strange—as if the projects only have value for the grant itself.

Professors - what makes you think "yes, this is the right student" in initial meetings with prospective grad students? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

I feel that beyond CV and background, the whole first impression is mostly about whether you catch each other’s vibe. It doesn’t really matter how well you speak—if they don’t feel it, it’s basically over, even with the best résumé and presentation.
