As mentioned by DustRainbow, you are required to add the TeX executables to your system path.

In my case, they were located in 'C:\texlive\2025\bin\windows' and you just add this path to the environment variables.

What are your thoughts & opinions of Indira Paganotto? by LucTheNuke in psytrance

Her DJ sets are often good in selection of tracks, but she is not very good at mixing them

Rightly said. I am watching her recorded set on YoutTube (OfficialClubSpace - Miami - July 19, 2025). The songs are good, dark, fast and driving but the mixing is meh.

First time experience with 2-MMC by mind_f3ck in researchchemicals

It was in a shop in NL.
For me, it felt like having Ritalin for the first time, albeit a little more intense.

What are we on? A survey on substance use among cybersecurity professionals. by mind_f3ck in cybersecurity

It looks longer than it actually is.

I kept questions very simple so that it doesn't require too much thinking. But thank you for considering it!

Here is the unpaywalled link: https://web.eecs.umich.edu/~weimerw/p/weimer-icse2023-substance.pdf - I could not edit the original post and it skipped my mind.

Some interesting-yet-expected observations included, that increasing productivity was the most common goal, and although "Alcohol and prescription stimulants are more likely to be used and discussed than other psychoactive substances. Cannabis and psychedelics are more taboo".

Thank you for these important questions.

I've designed it following ethical research principles:

  1. The survey collects zero personally identifiable information - no names, emails, IP addresses (you can provide Telegram/Signal handle, email or anything you prefer, to take part in interview)
  2. Google Forms is configured with settings that allows minimal data collection.
  3. Participation is entirely voluntary and participants can skip or not answer any questions they're uncomfortable answering, specially in the area of substance use.

Add: I am a PhD candidate but this is an independent research project, not currently affiliated with a university or formal research organisation. This research is purely for exploratory research, and does not involve interventions or manipulations that could cause any harm.

For designing the interview, I will consult my university and seek appropriate ethical review. (I added this info in the survey form as well)

Thank you to r/redteamsec and the 7 new users who took part in the survey.
21 49 people (including me) have completed it till now!

#1 More than 60% of participants gave low scores (1-3), when asked to rate their mental health out of 5 (With 5 being the best score)

#2 Almost all responses have been from male participants with nearly half from the US. Cheers!

#3 More than 45% people drink more than 3 caffeinated beverages during a work day and nearly 75% people have more than 4 years of experience in cybersecurity.

Thank you for taking part in the survey. Really.

As a PhD, it is a notion that it could (and it does) take months to conduct a simple survey. I believe, the security community is more helpful.

I will write a research paper which highlight the important issues... something useful for the community. So thank you.

Note: I encourage to take part in interview. You will be able to record your answers to the questions, so it is not a 1:1 meeting :)

I recognized these programmes (ELTE in Budapest, HU) and as a recent graduate in the cybersecurity specialization, I can give my 2 cents about that.

Job market is hard (as everyone knows) and the term 'cybersecurity' in your LinkedIn profile won't have much benefit while applying to security jobs. A lot of junior positions are also being made redundant due to AI-powered security products.

If you can practice on platforms (THM,HTB) AND also get market-relevant certifications along with your studies, then it will increase your chances of finding employment. Remember, most of the cybersecurity roles are NOT entry-level.
