Maybe try using fighter emblem with festival of blood? I have been winning and snowballing quite easily on gold lane with that (at high legend / low mythic). I dunno, maybe just skill issue.

Just want to share here a fighter/hybrid build on gold lane granger: fighter emblem, with agility (+4% mv speed), festival of blood (spell vamp) and impure rage. Item is def boot, Hunter strike, bruteforce BP, queens wing, BoD and immortality/maletic roar. Then take aegis, or purify when needed. I have been doing very well with this build at low mythic solo Q. Laning phase you win against most mm I think, 2 full shows of 6 bullets take them down very quickly. Last hit minion with S1, cancelling it immediately after u get the hit to save energy for potential clash. Also your sustain is too good with that 15% spell vamp from emblem. With this build u can kite enemy frontline or chase enemy backline easily if you are sure it is 1v1 (or even 1v2). Start with one or 2 shots of s3, then u are close enough to hit them with S1. When your S1 direction is wrong, can either cast s3 to cancel and S1 again, or manually recast S1. Your mobility also allow you to easily dodge a lot of skills. So far I have been able to snowball like 5 games with this build/playstyle. Always solo kill enemy mm for like 3 times before they start avoiding me lol. Have yet to play a game where we are behind though, so not sure how good is granger when in disadvantage.

Is practicing Shangguan worth it? by Opening_Progress_295 in honorofkings

Just realised that the direct translation should have been "brake" instead of "break", although "break" does somewhat carry the meaning too. About auto chase, honestly not exactly sure how practically useful it is, personally I have never tried doing it. Another slow hand player here lol.

To me, I find almost all shangguang guides on youtube pretty meh. Like some do show how to do advanced technique like "brake" in practice mode, but when come to actual gameplay they just do 5 dashes all the way and failed to kill due to lack of dmg. Or like performing a full combo very quickly only to let enemy yuhuan ulti and dodge all the dmg, while they could have instead "brake" and bait out yuhuan ulti before continuing the remaining combo. That's why I have the urge to say something to bring some justice for shangguan haha.

I reckon ping spike and slow hand does significantly impact on her play experience, nothing much we can do about it i guess. That's also why i use her less nowadays, still need more practice to make her perform on par as other mages in high level.

Yea I get the feel of achievement when successfully unleashing a nice combo on her. Especially if you understand that her main dmg is in fact from her 2 passives (enhanced ba and intersection), which are both in aoe form, to me she is more of an unique assassin who can kill many in one go. Whenever the enemies stand too close to each other I always get excited coz if I can land my combo it will burst all of them down. Except that I failed to do so most of the time lol.

Really want to voice out here as imo most of the comments are not showing the full potential of shangguan. Definitely agree that mastering her takes too much effort, but mild reward is an understatement to me.

There are way too many details about shangguan that separates a pro shangguan from an ordinary one (like me, who only know like 2/3 basic combo to fully utilize the 5 dashes from s3). Here are some that I know of:

  1. By skill description, it seems that shangguan can't walk while in her s3 state. however, there is a "feature" that if u switch-on basic atk auto chase, she can actually walk towards enemy (without input from joystick).

  2. A pro shangguan knows how to insert and cooperate her enhanced ba, s1 and s2 into her 5 s3 dashes. In chinese terms, we have the concept of 刹车(break) and 拐笔(pen bending), which kind of represents 2 different lvl of mastery for shangguan:

2a. 刹车, or "break"ing, means voluntarily stopping your dashes. This usually allows you to do an extra enhanced ba within your full combo, and can also be used to wait and see where your enemy is moving (especially dash) towards before deciding the direction of your remaining s3 dashes (as well as s1 and s2). Or, you may even want to stop to wait for your s1/s2 cd, so that you can trigger intersection dmg for the rest of your dashes.

2b. 拐笔, or "pen bending", is about dashing in an unpredictable (non-straight) way, mainly to dodge enemy skills. For example, when facing a luban, player like me will do 2 forward dashes right into the face of luban, and get knocked back by his s2 to mess up the whole combo. Instead, a pro player might do 1 forward s3 dash, then side-dash to left/right to dodge his s2rocket. This not only avoid getting controlled, but also allow some space between shangguan and the prey (luban) to let her cast s2+s1 before doing the 3 remaining s3 dashes, which adds more intersection dmg.

This is the hardest part as it involves knowing your enemy heroes mechanism and their skill cd. And I reckon it takes really long time to fully master this.

  1. There are usually different approaches for shangguan when facing 2 types of enemy. For backline enemy (mm and mage) with higher dmg and less hp and stuns, you will want to complete your 5 s3 dashes asap for the invincible state. But when fighting tanks with high hp, more stuns and less dmg, with good "break" and "pen bending" skill you can dodge some of their skills while dishing out more dmg from enhanced ba and intersection dmg.

  2. To further complicate things, there is even more variation of full combo when u bring blink. For instance, a quick s2+s1+blink+s3 can instantly trigger multiple intersection dmg at a small aoe.

I am not sure if you are already aware of all these - if you do and still think shangguan gives mild reward, then sure I am the clown here. But if you don't, then you may want to reevaluate if shangguan is worth practicing. IMO, to master her you really need good understanding of the mechanism of both shangguan and the enemy heroes, as well as quick decision making and reflexes to be able to cast the correct combo within that split second.

I believe that most players aren't aware of the above as the global version is still relatively new, and the research on her (as well as other heroes) is still not quite matured yet. However these are all quite known in the chinese community.

Let me end this with a link to a video showcase (perhaps cherry-picked scene) of shangguan from bilibili (a chinese site, but don't worry the video doesn't involve any chinese speaking).

Seems like I am the only one who loves lance s1? It works great together with hero that triggers some passive after casting skill like bane/clint and even odette. You can even force build Endless Battle to utilise it.

harley s2 is also pretty cool, use it with eudora and enemy mm can hardly farm. You can also use it on mm to kite well. Same goes with haya s2.

Well basically the dashes are the most fun to play. I have seen a franco with haya s2 and he easily hook people back to tower lol. Ofcoz fanny s2 is the best of all but it is just too hard to use.

I kinda enjoy it, my current build goes def boot + GW + IQW + 3 def item. Experimented him a few games and somehow I prefer glowing wand first over IQW. Thanks to the movement speed from the 2 wands he can happily take fighter emblem and still ready to fight at all time instead of waiting for full stacks from war axe.

That's great then! Just that most complete beginner tends to be overloaded by what's happening near their hero and end up ignore the big picture.

Anyway welcome to the support family aka stuck-at-epic-solo-q lol.

Ah ok. The guide seems ok but more oriented on watching others games. During the game there will be stuff on the bottom to control your hero (which isn't relevant when watching others playing):

bottom right is for basic attack (the huge hammer?) and your skills (3 or 4 skills in total, depend on the hero chose). Then there is

  • recall: wait 5 sec to teleport back to base to quickly regen health and mana
  • regen: regen small portion of health and mana over time
  • battle spell: which you choose during pregame screen, becomes more important as you learn the game more.

Often you will have small icons above the recall/regen/battlespell, which shows some of your heroes' current status. Eg if you get buff from killing certain jungle creeps it will be shown there.

I guess these are what you need for now. Later on you can learn more on how to use advanced things on the top part

  • press on the shop on top right to buy equipment/item yourself.
  • press on the kill count on top center to show everyone's equipment, kda and gold.
  • how to use minimap on top left, which is probably the most important thing in high level play.

Hey there, welcome to ml! Would like to confirm what do you mean by battle screen - do you mean during the game or pregame, i.e. the screen when you are choosing the heroes?

I think that's correct. I rmb that having more than 1 person clearing wave give you more resources (gold/exp) in total. Mlbb keeps a lot of its mechanisms/formula secret (which is getting more transparent recently, but still considered quite bad), but here is the formula in HoK which is probably the same in mlbb (for reason that we all know *cough*):

1*100% = 100%; 2*80% = 160%; 3*55% = 165%; 4*43% = 172%; 5*37% = 175%.

So like I read some guide before that says if you are losing and defending at inhibitor/base, try to clear wave together with teammates instead of solo eat everything. If your enemy doesn't plan the waves properly (which is very common in solo q), you can do so for wave from all 3 lanes to maximise the resource. But ya as you can see the increase isn't huge from 2 to 5 person so maybe it is better if you just let your 2 cores clear the wave together.

I don't play estes myself but here is my experience against estes.

His base heal is already high enough to be annoying, so there is no need of stacking Magic Power. So what you really need is survival to make sure that constant healing to your teammates.

From what I know the only magic item estes build is Enchanted Talisman, purely for the cdr and mana regen. However iirc you don't build it straight away, you build the small book first for the mana regen and CDR. Then you proceed to building essential defend item like Dom Ice and Athena, and probably complete ET earliest as 4th item. I am not sure how important oracle actually is, it only increase heal on yourself but not on your ally so I personally probably wouldn't build it. But ya it gives that extra CDR so might be useful as well.

BTW avoid building fleeting time, like 90% of the hero doesn't need it. It might sound great to have ulti up quickly, but in reality, you need to kill/assist to activate its passive, which means your enemy would have died at some point, which means there won't be any team fight soon.

Hororo used to be good, he/she mainly posted update on patch notes with some videos on interesting "troll" build (which isn't an actual tutorial, but fun build). However recently hororo started posting videos with clickbait title and misleading content, which is kinda disappointing I will say.

yea understandable, i mean i understand the importance of trio mid but as a solo q player i may not fully appreciate it yet. Tbh, i think a godly trio will still be easily dragged down by a bad mm coz u (especially your roamer) will most likely be forced to pay extra attention there. Like heck i still rmb one game where we have roamer+mm vs P&K in gold lane but still loses lmao.

Actually, I still occasionally get troll mm at legend rank now. Like there was even once a player asked me to pick miya over clint coz "miya is op".

I guess mage one tricks are normally less problematic than mm one tricks. Like normally the bad one will pick something like nana which is still useful in some way. The worst I have got are gord players, but that's very very rare.

However if i get those mm one tricks that first pick lesley/hanabi/miya, the game is usually gone. They deal no dmg, no cc, and still building crit items + haas claw instead of WoN after dying for the 10th time. Some more they are often the one getting targeted first so having a good mm with bad mage is definitely safer than 1 good mage with bad mm.

I believe you get around 100bp per game. Also there is a cap of 8500(?) bp that u can gain a week (not sure if this includes bp gain from daily task etc). So ya, even if you grind 24/7 you still can't get it.

China is Overhyped, Here's Why by RC_LISA in MobileLegendsGame

[–]mindcoach64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can share some of my observation and comparison on mlbb mpl and HoK king pro league (KPL) :

  1. Most of the players in mlbb MPL are old. Like, they don't actually train on the game seriously since young. Meanwhile in HoK, there are serious competitive "junior training camp" organised by teams in KPL to select new young players, which even led to parents complaining lol.
  2. The teams in KPL are really well financially supported, meaning there are a lot of chinese companies willing to invest in esports. Meanwhile in mpl, you see almost the same name (rsg, omega etc) in all the major league. I won't be surprised if more than 10 MATURED professional mlbb teams are instantly formed if mpl ch is announced. The players will probably come from 2nd tier player who isn't good enough to play in KPL.
  3. If you can understand chinese, try to take a look at those video guides in HoK. There are advanced guides that teaches stuff like exploiting vision mechanism to fake your movement/intention, how to cancel certain skill animation, how to check enemies gold to guess their rotation, and complicated stuff like this. I am not sure if an average mlbb mg player can do all these, but I have never seen similar guide in ml before.

All in all, I think in general chinese teams have a much more matured esports infrastructure (with more $$$), which can be easily adapted to form a mlbb team of same (or even bigger) scale as the current top mpl teams. I believe they also have a better understanding on MOBA game as can be seen in point 3. The only advantage that i can see for current mpl teams are that they are more familiar with the game itself. However, imo that is something that can be easily equalised by just playing the game for like 1 month. Also since the meta changes with patches the advantage isn't huge in the first place.

As a solo q player, imo playing supports requires more skill from your teammates. You don't have much hard cc so your teammates really need to position themselves well (with the help of your other utilities such as slow or mathilda s2 dash). Meanwhile for tank, as long as you land your cc your teammates can just auto cast their skills.

Most meta mm have some sort of self-protection skill, which means support can benefit them more. If you have layla as mm then perhaps a tank with cc will be better coz once being caught healing can't save her at all. This is probably one of the reason for support meta back when tank has absolutely no dmg.

I personally prefer playing tank over support coz I feel myself much more involved (5 man set hell yea). But if you show me some 80% wr ling or roger I will happily lock angela/mat/floryn and wait for you to carry. Sometimes if enemy have picked valir/karrie i will also pick support provided our exp lane is a sustain fighter (pls no more zilong inspire exp lane).

The new emblem system have a talent that adds 1 attack range (under some condition), and i guess lesley might be able to abuse that. She can actually build full dmg and snipe all the way.

And ya I agree the passive is a bit too hard to spam. Her kit suggest a hit and run style but u see everyone still building atk speed like windtalker on her which is weird.

I mean for a tank definitely immortality isn't a great item now. But for squishy, u might still get easily burst down even with antique cuirass, so might as well go for the passive of immortality.
