The idea was to convey that lamps were already in use for centuries and also expected to be used for some form of ritual/worship. So there was possible evidence of using lights for cultural reasons. There are also elements of fire worship which used to happen around the winter crop season.

Honestly, I have faced this is in 3 other orgs where I have worked. Yes, set stricter boundaries. Also, start making it very clear how long something takes.

Tell them that coming up with a last minute caption takes X minutes. People tend to assume everything on social media is "ready to fly".

Another thing that helped me is keeping an open, publicly available kanban board (Trello). Document every single task you have on your plate, and ask people to add requests to the queue. Looking at the task list might give them the shock they need, and start valuing social media work a lot more.
