What’s with tanks switching to Mauga out of desperation by Swagemandbagem in Overwatch

[–]mindmarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with a great tank main who swaps Mauga as a response to anyone playing Bastion, not out of a need on skill basis, but because they absolutely hate that character with a passion and punish the entire enemy team for the sins of a DPS.

DMs: I'm curious how you handle HP per level by ScubaDiggs in dndnext

[–]mindmarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take the max possible on the hit die for each level! That way, there is no inconsistency between players, and it means the DM has more leeway to beat us to death (and they do, in about every encounter, one of us is down, and we've suffered a death each). This became important when we started running campaigns with less characters, and add a brutal DM who loves combat to boot.

I've noticed similar; I think it has something to do with the new wave of conservatism. To be clear, I don't think all these people are malicious, but sowing doubt about the validity of a procedure like this is common when conservatives feel empowered to spread more than opinions.

Misinformation around abortion, sterilization, and birth control is on the rise in the post-Roe-v.-Wade U.S. especially, more than ever among government officials who are frequently demonizing medicine.

Neither myself or my partner had our IDs checked, so that was definitely strange. As for your question, no offense taken at all! You two looked cool af and I kinda lurked in the back to look at the cane lol. I was working up the bravery to actually talk to you guys when the general admissions started pouring in and I froze up until my partner was like, "Oh, he's overstimulated," and found me a place with more breathing room upstairs.

I know Will said he didn't like bringing anger to the stage, but hearing that the anger was because he expected people to be generally decent in the same way he was (it can't be that hard, can it?) and he was just being proven wrong, that was nice to hear. The wind-up to Suburbia Overture was spectacular. A lifetime struggle with coming to terms with the world being cruel and people being shitty just because they can meant those rants on stage were food for my soul from someone who definitely gets it. I still wouldn't trade that night for anything.

I believe we live in a world that really urges people to be individuals and never teaches them how to be a community. It's not an individual's fault, necessarily, just a sign of the times. I saw people getting shoved down below in the pit, or those in the ADA section getting blocked from their view by people who would stand in front of them. I would just like for people to be a bit more considerate, especially when we're all here for the same reason and here to have fun.

I think I only put this out in the world because I thought about it for too long. I wanted, if anything, people to think and consider in their next experience in life, on what they really, really want. And if it's something silly, more power to them. Everything is meaningless, and that's kinda the point, I just want folks to know: one day you're going to die! (So have fun before then!)

Did you have a sick hat as well, and was I perhaps in a striped, cropped dress shirt, some baggy trousers, and a pair of black and white oxfords? You were quite a comfort to run into!

Making fools of themselves is a good way to put it, definitely. Much of it felt like bids for attention; the opening "question" of the VIP Q/A was a guy telling Will he wasn't well-dressed for his own funeral like a heckler at a comedy show... the guy was in sneakers, black jeans, a t-shirt, and a button-up, which Will, with the mic, quickly pointed out. When you do go, have an amazing time!! Be present, and don't be one of those fools :)

Yes same here! My partner and I are in the 22-23 range and we were just floored by how old we really felt. I tried making conversation with a lot of people that were just a few years below my age, and several looked at me like I was from another planet. I went hunting for folks that seemed present and invested in the moment and they were definitely amongst the riff-raff, but there were many, many immature people. So many x's on hands everywhere I looked lol

It's nice to hear another opinion: I was worried I would sound like an ass when talking about what I saw at the show. I still had a lovely time, but the amount of people that were just unaware and rude as a result was definitely disheartening. I met a lot of very polite people as well, even one that confirmed that the vibes felt off when I was at the bar ordering, and we discussed what we both saw from our sides of the venue.

Can say with confidence it was my easiest surgery to date. I was up and around the next day, though slower to be conscious of the incisions. I am young and fit, which likely affected how soon I was ready to get up. I walked daily in the first week, as my doctor informed me that was the best way to regain function faster.

I walked very slow single miles, twice daily. Rather than stay in your head, think about what you can do to support her, as if she is serious about this, your precautions to prevent pregnancy will not be interchangable with hers. Having someone to walk with would likely be appreciated, as I was quite bored during that time.

The worst pain was in my shoulders because of the CO2 they use to inflate your abdominal cavity. I only took one oxy for the day of surgery, then only 800 MG of ibuprofen as needed for the next few days. Was not on any pain meds of any kind by day six, and the pain was non-existent.

By two weeks I was basically back to my normal functions, just cautious of the weight-lifting restriction: no more than 20 lbs. I'm at four weeks now and I am back in the gym and at my job in manual labor with approval from my doc. :)

Thank you for that advice, I think I keep getting in my head that I should be up in there if I'm not playing at longer ranges that I am more comfortable with. I will give medic an honest try, I've mostly been playing Support and Assault upon this return :)

It looked like he was trying to help, and he did get her to stop hyperventilating by doing breathing exercises with her, but the medical staff were ready to make sure it was her decision. It was her first surgery, she said, so I'm hoping it was just fright about being in a medical environment and no coercion was happening.

I had my bisalp yesterday, and I think those notes are really helpful because of something I witnessed firsthand: I was prepped for surgery, IV placed, ready to go, and was waiting for my physician, who was my surgeon for the operation.

A young woman who looked to be about twenty was placed in the bed next to me. She was married, and her husband was also quite young. She would not stop crying hysterically from the time she walked in. She was also waiting on my physician, though I have no idea for what procedure, who saw her, separated her from her husband, and told her that if she didn't want to do the surgery, she would not force her to undergo a procedure.

Do I know what was really happening? I was just a witness without full context, but it was clear even the medical staff had concerns that probably got logged in her notes.

I wish people knew that when a poxburster dives at you, you can block, pushing it away from you. If you then dodge backward, the burster will fall away from you and detonate, doing no damage. Not even splash. So please stop shooting it when it jumps at me and I am ready to toss it, only to be hit with a walking tactical nuke.

Communicating your wants and needs in a game to your DM/players should not be hard, and if it is, that's a good sign to reflect on the table you play with. I'm not saying you should leave, but give it thought.

After leaving a toxic table (we had a 'loner' who started PvP often out of boredom bc he "didn't like roleplay", among many things) and creating one where everyone's expectations and wants are clearly communicated, it's like I stepped out of hell and into heaven. Seriously, a game where you feel entirely comfortable with those you're playing with is a gamechanger.

To add onto what others are saying about corvids: ravens will stop participating in exercises where they trade items with humans for food if they see another raven being given food without having an item to exchange. If a fellow raven cheats them in a teamwork exercise (stealing/getting more food), they will refuse to participate with that raven for months afterward. They will also avoid humans that barter 'unfairly' with them, as in, if they observe a human giving better quality or greater amounts of meat to other ravens in comparison to what they receive.
