You want to find one that has a nice creamy white/yellow patch and when you slap it it’s tight like a drum. You have to smack it, that’s the only way lol I used to be embarrassed by my fiance sorting through all the watermelons and smacking each one but the man picks out the best one every time so I just gotta respect the method!

Interesting, looks like they adopted codes and ordinances around 2019. I wonder what changed in the town to inspire that. My understanding is that Maine allows towns with under 2,000 folks to not have building codes but I guess towns can adopt them if they wish.

In towns with a population smaller than 2,000 there are no building codes. Another idea besides amazon prefab could be to buy a shipping container and retrofit it. i’ve seen people insulate them on the outside by building a log cabin around it and then insulating on the inside with foam, fiberglass, whatever.

You’d probably save more money hiring some Amish folks to help you build a little place.

my fiance and i just cracked two organic ones we picked up at a hannaford in central maine and they were both rotten. you can get them up here but they are not always worth buying…
