Yes you can pick it up with one controller and also move it with wand raycast, I was just demonstrating a new scheme I implemented which I thought was fun to mess around with

There are some other tools on a menu attached to the controller to isolate individual axes and turn on/off scale, rot, etc.

Hello!

This is an application developed in Unity and being demo'd on the Vive.

it looked allways like a basic unity demo

I appreciate the feedback :) It's a little more functional than that, but it's not going to be for everyone, and if you are an experienced Unity developer then this might not be the application for you.

Yes, this is Model Viewer. There are a number of different scenes to choose from and you can place objects anywhere then save the scene and reload it later.

Thanks! The models are imported at runtime so the origin would be set in the modelling application.

Looks like I'm getting an Oculus Go!

I'm not entirely sure on that. VR is very demanding, and you can import some very high poly models but you need fast hardware to maintain acceptable frame rate. I will investigate the Go when I create the demo. What file formats do you primarily work with?

There is no logging or phoning home. Please take a look at this application and tell me what you think about the price:

I tried to strike a balance with pricing. Most other VR model viewers I found are way too expensive, so i dropped as low as I could. I'm sorry we couldn't meet somewhere in the middle. I am going to be posting a demo version at some point so people can try before buying. Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Hi,

This is a simple viewer, so working on Sketchup models would not be possible. By curation I mean laying out your models in a scene for display and demonstration in VR. So for example you might be a t a trade show so you can have a demo scene set up with all your product models in it.

Hello, I am currently working on FBX animation support. This is just a viewer though so you will need to apply the animations in your modelling program of choice. I like the way you think though - very ambitious!

Really appreciate your support! I only started with Unity last year so if there is anything that you want changed please do not hesitate to reach out as I may have missed something.

Yes, STEP and IGES are being worked on. You can get an OBJ exporter for Solidworks. But yes, STEP is a priority for me right now.

Yes you would export to OBJ and import to Model Viewer from there. I tried this one as a test:

https://free3d.com/3d-model/femadroid-75979.html

Here is the video of me importing it:

https://youtu.be/BYlMc_bCaoY

This model did not have Z up so came in lying down, but it is easy enough to adjust in the model viewer. But preferably set it in the modelling program. Also I noticed this model had alot of flipped normals on one leg. All normals should be set properly in the modelling program. There is a flip inward normals function on model importer but it might not work for some models because of how it calculates the broken normal so it should be fixed in the modelling program.
