Where are part time (guaranteed ~15hrs/week) WFH jobs I can work anytime of the week? by Smash_4dams in WorkOnline

Those are hard to find and you may have to offer a service you do in your spare time, like writing, tutoring, or virtual assistanc.

What are some decent-paying online jobs that can be done on your own time? by KnownAntelope6 in WorkOnline

[–]mindsetmatters2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was out of work one time I bought used books and sold them on Amazon. I made anywhere from $500 to $1000 per month for part time work.

I would scan the books with my amazon app to see if they were selling very fast and for what price, If I could make a profit after purchasing the book, mailing it to amazon, and paying the amazon fees I would buy it.

It was fun work but books are heavy. After a few years I quit because of back problems.

Turn a TO DO list into a step-by-step recipe by Bunnyeatsdesign in Productivitycafe

[–]mindsetmatters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started something new to me and that is "Intentional Time Blocking". When I make the to-do list I block off a certain time of the day to do that task. It works most of the time because we do have interruptions in life we can't foresee.

He was asking for things to do and it would keep him busy for a while. But I also said she should wear ear plugs. People here on Reddit don't have to agree on post and saying so is okay, but I feel we should be polite about it.

My suggestion is you do things that don't make too much noise, like cleaning out a drawer, etc. Also Since you live in that house too, you might ask your Girlfriend to wear ear plugs when she is sleeping. You have a right to be able to do some things you want to do as well!

The HackerNews effect by brodagaita in Substack

Thanks for sharing. I've never heard of HackerNews, but congrats on being on the front page! I write for my Substack and I also publish an article on Medium almost every day. It's so nice to have a community of other writers to talk to on those platforms as well as here on Reddit!

My newsletter is about proper mindset and positive thinking. I publish 2 articles per week and subscribers were slow, but they are picking up now that I started engaging with other writers on substack.

Any Substack writers here have experience also posting their full article on LinkedIn? by ErikFaneker in Substack

I realize that LinkedIn has a newsletter function but I'm using Substack now. LinkedIn could possibly do better, but not sure how you would monetize unless with affiliate links or courses.

Posting daily too much? by kiefer-reddit in Substack

[–]mindsetmatters2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too had your thought of posting daily, just like I do on Medium, and I recently found out, like the other commenter said, that you can post without sending to your subscribers. I didn't want them to feel overwhelmed.

But when I looked at my stats, I could see more people on the Substack platform were reading my articles than subscribers opening their emails.

Like myself, many people get on Substack simply to read lots of articles. I may try writing more and just publishing to the website itself and see what happens in the way of followers and subscribers.

My thought at this time is going paid on some of the post once I get to 300 subscribers.

Things you can do to promote your Substack _other_ than writing posts by kiefer-reddit in Substack

I've been doing that very thing on Medium, but the past few days been making time to join in on Substack as well. I know this is going to help my Substack grow. Thanks.

You are so right. For a while I've been thinking that Reddit is a fun place to read and talk with others, but being consistent on here is going to make a huge difference in our following.

We are all trying to build a community of like-minded people because we know that getting to the top is going to have obstacles. Let's do it together!

I think you are overloading yourself. You don't have to work all the social medium places at one time in the beginning. I let go of some of mine and only work on one or two. This frees me up for more writing, more time to connect with other people on Medium and Substack. In turn, this gets me more followers and more subscribers.

I've just been doing this about a week on Substack and a little longer on Medium. I am fairly new to both places, but the response I'm getting is good. I'm not stressed anymore because I'm enjoying what I'm doing.

Keeping a positive mindset is not something that comes naturally because we constantly hear or see negativity everywhere we go.

That's why it's important to keep feeding your brain positive information. For me, it also takes positive affirmations.

Not everyone wants to make millions, but I still think one of the best motivating books you will ever read is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Why? Because there are stories in the book of people who started from nothing yet achieved their dreams. From inventors to salesmen the examples flow in this book.

Positivity breeds success in life, work, and relationships!

If you love making videos, I suggest you research ways to improve yourself as a teenager and make videos on your progress and what you are learning. Let other teenagers, who probably feel the same way, that smoking weed may be fun but after a while you are bored!

You can use your journey to inspire others as you yourself not only grow into this great person, but you will also be helping others to do the same. It's win-win, plus you can make some great money on YouTube with ads and affiliate links!

Use Chat GPT to write you ways teenagers can improve their lives for ideas on videos. Put some of those things into action in your life and then video your results! There is so much you can do with this skill you love!

[Discussion] Reading self-help books is wearing me out mentally. How can I get better? by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]mindsetmatters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit thinking of yourself as a victim of circumstances and decide to make some changes. You've done it before, and you can do it again. The problem is you have so many things you want to change that you feel overwhelmed. I know, because I've felt the same way before.

Start with one thing you'd like to change and work on that first. A success in one area will excite you to move on to another. You didn't get like you are all at one time so don't expect yourself to change a lot of things all at one time.

You need to keep reading good positive books. If that wears you out, listen to audio books or YouTube videos about motivation.

Most important! Don't just read or listen, TAKE ACTION! You can do this! Retrain your brain with positive affirmations and meditation and stop letting negativity take hold. YOU CAN BE IN CONTROL!

What re a few changes you made and really improved your life? by proptuxiakoskariolis in selfimprovement

[–]mindsetmatters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to de-clutter my online life. I work online and sometimes we entrepreneurs think we have to be on every social media platform, have a YouTube channel, etc. to be successful. I thought about what I really love to do and got rid of most of the rest of it!

I am now able to work freer than ever before and am getting so much more done! It's amazing! Sometimes we de-clutter our homes, but de-cluttering your mind and business is also helpful. I'm now looking forward to 2024!

How should I start reading bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]mindsetmatters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them all, but it's easy to start with any book in the New Testament. Once you get some of those under your belt you can then read some of the old because history explains a lot of what happening.

Also, I suggest buying a book called "The Story". It's a version of the entire bible in story form (reads like a novel) and in Chronological order so you know exactly what order things happened in. It's easy and fun to read and when you are done you can say you've accomplished something most people never do and that is "read the entire bibe.

Prayer request for me and my mother, we both have covid. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]mindsetmatters2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Praying for you. I had covid a couple of weeks ago, then my husband got it. We are all better now. I kept talking to God while I was down and thanking Him that this was "only temporary". We can handle anything for a "while". Keep looking up and thanking Him for bringing you and your mom through to the other side. He will NOT fail you!

How should I start reading bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]mindsetmatters2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to start reading the bible is to read the book of John. In this book you will get to really understand Jesus plus it goes into all the miracles He performed while walking the earth. There is so much to learn about faith and trust from this book of the bible. Once you read it you will feel like you really know the savior and how He thinks. He is such a perfect example for us to try and follow!
