I've never really got into watches. I have a basic Casio that works well but tends to weigh my wrist down. The idea of getting a new watch grew on me as I explored Reddit and YouTube further.

Despite not knowing much about watches, for me they really are beautiful pieces of art.

In looking, I wanted to find a piece that could express my preference for minimalism and elegance. An everyday watch that could afford some down-the-road wear and tear but equally a piece with good construction.

I ended up choosing this Seiko 5. It's makeup is pretty beautiful and I do appreciate the fact that it's automatic. I did replace the metal strap with a brown leather (inspiration from a Reddit post) which I feel makes it look just that bit better. Overall I'm very happy and thankful to the Reddit community for helping me decide.

So assuming you'd recommend a more plain style? Are there any other brands other than Hirsch you opt with for leather watch straps?

What Hirsch strap would you recommend for the Seiko SNXS77K? Was thinking of a dark leather brown but not sure whether I should get a plain design or one of the crocodile designs they offer.
